What made you a Miami Dolphins Fan?

I'm just curious what made you all Dolfans?

I remember when I was about four years old I was watching a game between the eagles and dolphins, or God at least I think it was them, and I just... Lo9ved the way the Dolphins played. I couldn't help but cheer for them. Of course I was four but from then on I was cheering for them and Always will be!

What about you guys?

This city, this region of South Florida...it's in my blood. There's no place like it in the world.

In 1970 they drafted my hero from the University of Michigan, TE Jim Mandich. 40 years as a Dolphins fan.

As much as a 9 year old in Detroit can be. On Sundays I always watched Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire giving scores during the CBS Post game show and would read the Monday blurb on the game in the local paper.

My dad was a Lions fan and would not buy me any Dolphins shirts so I took a white tee-shirt and wrote "Miami Dolphins" on it and would wear it under my sweatshirt out of the house. As soon as I was outside, the sweatshirt came off and I thought I was the coolest kid on the block.
 
I started in 1970 also! i am from Cleveland, but they used to show the Dolphins and the Steelers all the time because the Browns sucked back then too for a while! Lol, and plus, some of the 72 fins are from Ohio. Shula, Warfield, Csonka, and Griese too i think.
 
I was 3 in '71, my one Brother rooted for the Packers and the Other the Vikings. I didn't like either ones Helmet, I think it was the dolphin on the Helmet and I've been a fan ever since. I still have a picture in our upstairs hall of me on Santas lap at 5 years old with my Phins jacket on sporting a Pete Rose/ Moe Howard inspired hair cut.
 
It all started for me in 1975 in N.Y.. I was 10 yrs. old and bowled in jr's league. When it wasn't my turn to bowl i would sit at the counter and watch the game. It was the 1st NFL game i had watched. Don't know what it was that made Miami stick with me.
Maybe it was the logos. Hell i can't even remember who they we're playing. Thats prob a good thing, it could of been the JETS. lol
 
when i was 7 i held up a liquor store with a fish stick and later the inmates, well, i really don't want to talk about it.
 
Sometime around '94 when I was a kid. Combination of-1.Dolphins were my favorite animal. 2.Ace Ventura. 3.Dan Marino. Yes, a 6 year old from New York chose the Miami Dolphins, not only as favorite football team, but the first sports team I ever liked, hence why I care about the Phins more than every other sports teams combined. [I was a smart kid in not picking the Jets.]

Even though I'd be taken to a few Giants games as a kid, I would wear Dolphins gear to them haha.
