what miami should be doing right now...

i won't count on any of them...and i don't think its silly when this long in the tooth larry johnson is your #3 rb to want to use a late round pick on someone who can play in this league and can help us both in the short and long term...

hell bell could well beat out daniel thomas down the line...you never know...and for a late round pick that would be a steal

Why does the 3rd string runner worry you so much? He can still run, and thats basically all you need in a 3rd RB. Maybe I'm blind as they come, but I cant see how nobody in this place belives that Larry Johnson wont be able to pick up 3 & 1-2-3. Or that he wont be able to spell DT every now and then and get some tough yards between the tackles. He's still LJ people, still knows how to run, still knows the fundementals, still gonna be able to mentor DT(whos idol is LJ by the way) and has basically had the last 2 years off, yet appears in good football shape.

Call me crazy, but I'm OK with LJ. We need a TE more, I'd be more interested in throwing a late round pick at Quarless or another quality TE.

dujaun harris...hmmm...i'll have to check that out

Makes people miss, falls forward, shows some power, and he's tricky in the passing game. He's got the low pad level you're looking for at that position, sits and explodes.

He didn't get any action at all in the 1st preseason game. He did really well in the 2nd preseason game. He caught a TD and then followed up by catching a 2-point conversion in the 3rd preseason game. And he scored a TD last night in the 4th preseason game.

The downside is fumbling but I'm not sure if that's officially a trend problem or what. He fumbled in the 2nd preseason game, just got caught trying to do too much in a crowd, spinning this way and that way, etc. In the 3rd preseason game they called a fumble, but it was caused by the ground. It was really just bad luck, because he tripped as he was trying to squeeze thru a small hole, and when he hit the ground the ball came out. Normally the ground can't cause a fumble but the officials argued about and reviewed whether or not they felt there was proof that any defenders had managed to touch him before he went down and they ended up concluding that nobody did.

If he doesn't make it in Jacksonville because of those fumbles, I'm taking him. He has a nose for the end zone, got into it 3 times this preseason counting the 2-point conversion, and he's faaast.

Well the Cardinals just cut down to 53 players and they kept Stephen Spach AND Jim Dray.

So there goes that.

All these people trying to figure out the 53 man roster by plugging in numbers like "ok we should have 5 receivers so they'll be..." are just way off. You keep the 53 players that deserve rostering. You don't hold yourselve slave to some idea that you should always have 5 of these, 3 of these, etc.

As far as TE goes, is Chris Cooley healthy? If so, Fred Davis may be available. I've always been a fan of Davis. He seems to produce anytime he plays.

larry johnson looks slow as all get out approaching the los with the ball...i don't know what you guys are thinkin but this dude looks slow...he looks like a fb approaching the los after taking the handoff...ABSOLUTELY cut him and look for something else...he's got no burst

daniel thomas looks like a ferrari to the los compared to larry johnson...jeesh...and as lj's legs get more wear on them he'll get even slower...

Well to be fair, Daniel Thomas's legs look like a ferrari to alot of rbs as well.

But I do agree with you input on LJ, dude just doesn't have it anymore.

Definitely buying your angle here Hoops. LJ hasn't been good in 4 years and looks SLOW to me. Just don't see how we can't pick up someone with more speed or at least be more versatile than what LJ has to offer at this point.

dammit all...chris ivory of the saints was just put on injured reserve for the year...forget joquie bell...

Yup. As a matter of fact as I posted in Robi's 53 man roster thread, my 53 man roster is currently a 50 man roster. I'd grab one Tight End for sure, one Offensive Lineman for sure, and then I'd look for talent...if Joique Bell were available I would be all over that. Same with DuJuan Harris. I'd think about Stafon Johnson.

think stafon johnson was released, that kid has been thru some serious injuries.
