What’s next: Do not be surprised if the Dolphins are one of
the teams in the market for a big name. Given Bush's durability questions and
Thomas' rookie status, free-agent running back Chester Taylor should at least be up for discussion
in Miami. The Dolphins do not need a primary tailback but could use someone
proven to add stability. The New England Patriots also confirmed safety Brandon Meriweather's release on Saturday evening. He
is an upgrade over what the Dolphins currently have and would provide an
opportunity to take a good player from a division rival.

If I had to take one of the two I'd take meriweather for several reasons.. One he can come in and add immediate presence to our already good backfield. Two he would take over the FS position and allow Jones to grow another year while also mentoring him and then switching him over to SS. Three he would give us some extreme valuable information about the pats defensive schemes. Last but certainly not least he's part of the UUUU!

we are not getting either guys.. and chester taylor is garbage.. boo boo.. I honestly would rather us kick tiki barbers tires before everrrrrrr looking at that scrub! oh and meriweather is probably headed to indy.. they need a playmaking ss and thats the perfect player for their defense..

Merriweather is too much of a "THUG" for Miami and his salary is kind of high. No chance. Chester Taylor is DONE. Lets move on

we aint taking meriweather. just because a big name is out there, you go grab him. It just isnt looked at in madden fashion like that.

Miami drafted their young guys. BB drafted his. Ours still around and just getting into the swing.

Let someone else get him except the jets. I did hear the jets were wanting to put in a claim.

looking forward to sergio brown. lol

Brandon Meriweather blows - he's an absolute liability in coverage and how he's made a pro bowl, let alone two, I'll never know.

Yeah I live in NE and I don't think I've talked to many Pats fans who feel Meriweather is any good. I don't think us signing him would strike one iota of fear into Bill Belechick or Tom Brady, they'd probably whip up on him in week 1. Supposedly Sergio Brown beat him out, I guess we need to ask ourselves is Sergio Brown better than Chris Clemons/Rashad Jones?

Not to mention the radio guys down there will have a field day making fun of Meriweather's voice, they love to do that up here.

I'm happy with our FS situation Clemons and Jones both have a solid skill set, yet both bring different things to the table. They are both still young players with plenty of room to grow, no reason to fix a position if it isn't broken.
