What number defense will Miami have in 2007?

alright. Let's break this down. I know we always get bashed for having senior citizens @ the front, but lets face it, they produce! It doesn't matter how old you are in my eyes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Linebackers I think we have a top notch core. I just can't see another bunch as talented as this. Crowder, Porter, Thomas, SICK! The addition of Porter will greatly improve and motivate our defense. I have been wanting a vocal leader on D for some time.

Now for what I think is our greatest weakness, our secondary. Although J.Allen will be moved to corner, he is unproven. Nevertheless, he has one year under his belt so he should know the system. Will Allen has done a fair job. He has his days. This guy Travis Daniels has been injured but also plays decent when given the chance. Yeremiah Bell has been playing lights out and is the lone bright spot here. I think he will continue this tempo and lock his spot. Renaldo Hill.... I don't have much info on him.

Our front 7 is elite but our secondary is suspect. I think the addition of Brandon Merriwether(sorry if i spelled it wrong) in the 2nd round will add the juice needed. I hope we get him. Any thoughts? :jt0323:

I predict a top 5 Defensive unit this year, what do you people think?
 
We better have a top 5 defense. We should have a top 3. The pats, baltimore, and us should be the top 3 D's. I too would like Meriweather in the 2nd.
 
Meriweather with our 1st 2nd rounder and a QB with the next if we cannot get Quinn. But it would be good to have a safety from the "U" Local Miami boy. Yea I agree with top 3 defense. Baltimore is stocked up and the pats are also.
 
Ohh Man We will be up there!! Were Strong With LB'ers and Solid With Vonnie and taylor!!! If Our secondary plays big we will be unstoppable

So what your saying is you have a better D than Denver, Carolina, Jacksonville, Chicago, San Diego, and Philadelphia? Interesting.
 
I think our D will have attitude now with Porter. We have been missing it for quite some time now. This should fire up our players and get them playing with more motivation. Your are sure right on that, WE ARE UP THERE!:evil:

Just because I'm a niner fan im prohibited from posting here? Maybe I should tell my friend whos a fin fan to stop posting in the niner board...

I know your defense is good but you guys are not a top 5 D when you have no legit starting CB or S. Where would the fins D be without Taylor and Thomas?

Our D sucked *** last year... I dont know how you can say our D is solid. We made some big FA acquisition this year to help our D though. With Clements, Lewis, TBC, and Franklin our D should be much improved last year but I would say were in the middle of the pack still. Were prolly going to get Patrick Willis this comming draft so that should help our D even more. And I do agree that Smith sucks, I never wanted him in the 1st place. He is a far cry from being a 1st overall pick talent. I seriously think He and Rodgers would have slipped in the 2nd round if Leihnart came out that year.

What we are saying is that we already had the #4 defense last year. And if Saban hadn't waited to start Yeramiah Bell until half way through the season, it would have been ranked even higher. We replaced Donnie Spragan with Joey Porter (massive upgrade), and Travis Daniels is coming back without injury that hampered him all of last season. Knowing this, you can't understand the excitement here?

We already had a better D that all those teams except Chicago last year. They might look cooler on paper but we had the 4th best last year and Porter should solidify top 3. Post when you know what you're talking about. Oh yea you guys are only good on paper too as of today. You guys have to prove your D before it becomes good.
 
We will have a top 5 Defense. I think we will improve this year on the pass defense which is what killed us last year. Jason Allen has to step it up and I think we are 1 CB or S from being elite defense.
