I know it's early but I can't stop thinking about how good we'll be when we find Saban's QB. I think we can unanimously say that the Phins big off season aquisition will be a QB whether in FA or the Draft. My question is, what other teams need a starting QB?

The teams that I know need a QB:
Jets - Pennington just ain't the guy he's made of pre-fragmented china.
Baltimore - Kyle Boller doesn't seem to be fitting well with them.
Saints - Depending upon if they change coaches they may get rid of Brooks.
Arizona - ?

The wild cards that we don't know but could be huge spoilers because of their records if they choose to make a QB switch:

Houston - might go after Young Quinn or Leinhart. But if they do, that could free up David Carr who I'd put in a Phins uniform in a south beach second.

Detroit - Joey Herrington is about to get knifed on the street up there. Maybe a new coach makes him into a better QB. Their record isn't great so if they do QB they'll be plucking someone before us in the draft.

Minnesota - Culpepper isn't getting much love after the way he played before his injury. Now Brad Johnson is lighting it up in the Met. Maybe they switch maybe they don't. I think they'd stay with DC but I had to add it just in case.

The available QB's I would consider are : David Carr (if available), Matt Scahub from ATL, Quinn from the draft (if he declares), Leinhart (duh), Vick Young.

How do we structure it so we can get our guy knowing we may be picking between 15 - 20 something?

The Texans are NOT going to part with Carr. Instead, they will draft Bush and start surrounding Carr with OLinemen taken in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. All other observations are pretty accurrate. Baltimore is an interesting story. Boller is indeed a bust and the Balt. lockeroom agrees. Will Billick take another chance and draft a QB in the 1st round again? Or will he sign a FA and go that direction? Stay tuned...this all impacts the Dolphins ability to pick up a QB via draft or via FA.

The comment about Harrington was hilarious. :rofl3:
I think Culpepper will be back in Minnesota. There was a thread on that earlier with a link indicating he would be.
I think Detroit will be looking for a QB.
I think the Texans will try to restructure Carr's contract. I see them going with Reggie Bush in the draft and a left tackle in the second.
If Leinhart falls to the Jets, I don't see them passing him.
I think if Young's around when Arizona picks, they'll go with him.
I don't think Quinn will declare.

I forgot to mention that Aaron Brooks was benched for the rest of the season in New Orleans and he said he's likely taken his last snap for that organization. He feels he will either be traded or released in the offseason. Brooks is a guy I'd take a look at. Not necessarily a long term solution but somebody that needs to be evaluated.

No I said I think Arizona will take him. If not them then the Titans. I think he'll be long gone by the time we pick.

i still dont think the jets are in the QB hunt right now... they have a horrible cap situation and they just signed chad, they cant cut him, and if they draft a QB with a high pick like that, they'll have a lot of their cap tied into their QB position... now i know your gonna say san diego did the same thing, but they had cap space and also brees was'nt making as much as chad now is...

i just dont see the jets taking lienart, or any QB high... but maybe i'll be wrong

We'd probably take Cutler if he's there but he could be gone too.

why does everybody think that Houston is going to draft Bush?? Is Davis a FA or something?

Hey Dolfans,

Miami last week worked out a QB from the CFL named Casey Printers.
I'm from Canada and a huge Dolphins fan, I have watch Casey play the last few years and have seen many great NFL QB's play and start thier carreers here in the CFL.

Printers is big, fast and has a strong arm. He can flat out play.

I think that if Miami can bring this young guy in. He has the talent and the potential to do great things for our team.

Something to think about??

Haslett has said Brooks is not gong to be in NO next year and he may not be either!

NYJ/NO/ARI/Tenn/Oak/WSH/BAL/KC/DAL/DET/GB and maybe even TB
Take in to consideration that some of these may only take a QB if the value is high for where they are drafting. Volek is no sure bet in Tenn. nor is Collins in Oak, or Rogers in GB
