When asked if the ball was thrown his way often enough, Owens said: "I would say no. I'm a competitor, and I want the ball."
Now that's not terrible, but this probably was.
"Everybody recognized that I wasn't really getting the ball in the first half," Owens said. "I'm pretty sure everybody watching the game recognized it, people in the stands recognized it, I think my team recognized it. I didn't quit. I kept fighting and trying to running my routes and trying to get open."
Ok, so does Owens have a point? Uh, no. Dallas ran 58 plays from scrimmage, and the ball was thrown in TO's direction 18 times. In addition to that, Owens also got the ball on two end arounds. That would mean 34% of the time Dallas tried to get Owens the ball. No other Dallas player came even close to that number. And Owens still had 7 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown.
He said the ball wasnt thrown to him enough
That's your typical TO. Philly got rid of him for attitude problems, and this shows why. He's got the biggest ego in the league.
He could end up where many opinionated overated slickers ends up, color commentator as an NFL analyst.
If he blows his opportunity in Dallas, I dont know if he'll find work elsewhere. He'll be 35 next season. Hes proven that even with pro bowl QBs tossing to him, he'll still find things to complain about. Even the Raiders would shy away considering what they just went through with Moss. TO better learn to think before he speaks or it could cost him what could be 2-3 more productive seasons.
IRVING – Terrell Owens' frustration with the Dallas Cowboys offense carried over from the field to the locker room Sunday.
Owens, despite having 18 passes thrown his way in the loss to Washington, had what was deemed a serious conversation about the offense with quarterback Tony Romo after the game, according to multiple sources.
You guys overreact too much. Each team Owens has been with came out good with or without him.
Dallas will be fine with or without him, and Jerry Jones will remind T.O. sometime this week who runs **** around there and tell him to shut up.
Hell, I'm sure Jerry is waiting to write a big check to Roy this offseason to keep an elite receiver after Terrell Owens' career is over.
