I personally would like Miami to trade down this year and pick up another 2nd round pick (assuming we take care of our QB via FA, which is the most likely option), but for that to happen a great player is going to have to fall to us at 8 or 9. The other scenario is a team will fall in love with a player and will try to trade up to avoid another team picking him. Looking at the draft order and the talent in the top of the draft I think these guys could be one of the players who could net us a trade by still being there.

Trent Richardson - He is a 1st round RB. 3-Down back and will be a factor in the NFL from day 1. I think this guy will have a great NFL career and is deserving of a top 10 draft pick. The only problem is that NFL teams dont like to take RBs in round 1, BUT Richardson is better than Mark Ingram (who went in round 1). It will take a team who fell in LOVE with him to trade up, but it could happen. I am 99% against drafting a RB in round 1, but I think Richardson falls under the 1% category.

Michael Brockers OR Devon Still - These guys are flat out BEASTS. They havn't gotten a ton of recognition as DTs in the past years, but a lot of players havn't this year b/c the entire draft hype is surrounding Luck and RG3. There are arguments of Devon Still being a better prospect but I like Brockers more. Still is the better pass rusher of the two but Brockers is the better overall DT for any 4-3 team. DTs are gaining tons of momentum and these guys could be a great players for a lot of teams. One of these two are actually one of my dark horse pick for Miami if Langford and Soliai leave. Also to note, there has been a DT taken in the top 10 in each of the past 5 Drafts.

Justin Blackmon - I admit that this guy is the least likely to be there, but hear me out. There is not doubt that this guy is a GREAT player and a top 5 talent. The guy's strength and hands are about as good as it gets for a WR. He has shown a ton of production and is a just a great player overall. BUT we have seen time and time again that WR can fall in the draft and Blackmon could just as easily fall too. He has been arrested for a DUI and has had durability issues in his career. In fact he was only a full-time starter for one season. In addition he does not have elite speed especially for his size, which is another knock on him - 6'1" - 215 lbs. Most of the 1st round WRs take at the top are usually BIG guys. 6'3" or 6'4" (AJ Green, Julio Jones, Dez Brayant, A. Johnson, C. Johnson, Fitz). I def think there is a 20% - 30% chance he falls. My only issued here is that I would want Miami to draft him as well if he is there, so I think it would take more than a 2nd round pick to pass on him.

Who do you think could be the player to net us a trade????

P.S. I didnt put this in the draft forum b/c to me its more about how we could net a 2nd round pick as opposed to who we can get or draft. Either way, Ill leave it to the mods to move if they feel the need to. Thanks.

I think Richardson falling to us would allow for a trade to happen to the Bengals maybe IMO.

Am I in the draft forum? I am confused.

i think richardson if we were lookin to trade out could be the carrot that someone comes up for...provided he runs really well...and i mean really well...otherwise i don't see anyone coming up that high for him

I Really REALLY want Vontaze Burfict. I think we should trade down and select him... Can never have enough solid LB'ers, and i think he will have a pretty good NFL career. Honestly, I know this is from a movie and such, but he reminds me a lot of the real-life Danny Bateman. We need some attitude on our team. Perfect fit.

The best chance for the Dolphins to get a 2nd round pick in a trade down is if Trent Richardson falls to us and the Bengals haven't dealt with their RB need in free agency.

this.

Lets play this another way; there is a good chance both Kirkpatrick and Claiborne are gone by #7.

Could Jerry Jones be hoodwinked into moving up so he can get Jenkins or Gilmore w/ Miami getting an additional 2nd?

im torn if i'd even want to trade down. we've got a great chance of a high impact player at 8/9. consider the 2010 draft when we dealt our 12 for SD's 28 and 40. odrick and misi have collectively accomplished very little as NFL players, lets be honest. odrick has looked promising when he gets on the field though, six sacks is impressive. misi, not so much. we forego selecting earl thomas (my pick at the time), JPP, Iupati, Bryant, Pouncey etc.

Eventually you have to take the BPA if your in the TOP 10. Trading down forever does nothing for this team, when we never get IMPACT players.

This team lacks instant IMPACT PLAYMAKING players. Stay and draft the BPA and stop the trade down BS. Other teams can do it, because they already have the net tools around them to qualify the trade.

ATL moved UP to get their man. SD moved UP to get their man. MIA can't continue to fall back and settle for their man.

i dont see richardson as the guy that gets us the best chance to trade down. I think Blackmon is way more of a guy that team will be willing to trade up to get. In most drafts he is expected to be a top 5 pick. Richardson i could see going in the low to mid teens in a normal draft, and in most drafts thats were they have him going too. If blackmon is there i could see that as our best option for a trade down.

Lets just take the Best player. Seriously, the only layer I don't want at 8 or 9 is Richardson. I just don't see a rb worth the value. Everything else we can use. If we get a stud DT, kick Odrick out to End. Get a great end kcik him in. Get a great corner, awesome three good corners doesn't hurt. QB no brainer, my question is if RG3 comes in at 6'0 or 6'1 does he slip?

I doubt that he would fall all the way to 8 ro 9 even if that happens.
