You know how there is always that player that is on the team who everyone counts out. Then the next season low and behold the light ticks on in their head and they play like a man possessed. Which player on our team do you think has the highest chance of it happening? Henne doesn't count. Neither does Ginn or Crowder. I am talking about someone who is just truly unexpected and hasn't been a huge contributor yet.

My pick is Akin Ayodele.

I'll go with Jason Allen. Some people on this board have just crushed that kid and I believe he has all of the talent in the world to do something great.

While we are all dreaming I'll go ahead and say Julius Peppers, after we trade for him. He will work hard on every play and use that big body and ability to get 25 sacks.

I would really hope Shawn Murphy or Paul Soliai

2 REALLY good names in this thread with Jason Allen and Paul Soliai . . . and boy let me tell you those are the 2 guys this team would LOVE for the lights to come on for.

I also think Ginn has his breakout season next year.

Imagine our stud CB, NT and WR could be on this team right now.

Wouldn't it be crazy if a guy like Quentin Moses just becomes a beast as a 3-4 OLB.

It will probably someone in a contract year. People seem to really "see the light" when its about millions of dollars.

I think either Allen or Soliai. They both showed signs this year and hope they continue to do so.

Merling. I think he was turning it on at the end of the year. His field awareness has improved by leaps and bounds. (Screen pass INT anyone?)

Paul Soliai not only need to step up they HAVE to step up in 2009. It's now or never for those two in my opinion. Soliai needs to come to the off season workouts with his head on straight and with a purpose. No more getting suspended. It's time to show what you've got big Paul. You showed that you have some big time ability when you shot through the line and forced a fumble against the Ravens in the playoffs but we need to see a lot more of that. As far as Jason Allen, it's do or die time. We know he has the physical tools but he has to go out and prove he can handle the mental aspects. Finally, Shawn Murphy has had a year to sit and learn. He needs to come to camp and start showing that he can be a factor and not another Taylor Whitley.
