Obviously we're not bringing any of them back, this is just for fun because I'm bored at school so let me just get that out of the way before anyone jumps down my throat. I'd LOVE if we had Vontae Davis on this team. It hurt like hell that we let him go, imagine him in addition to this Miami Defense we have today. I would have put up with his immaturity issues and tried to develop a relationship with him if I was Philbin because he is beyond solid. If you could bring back one player that we let go in the Philbin era who would it be and why?

Sean Smith, I never hated him like the forum and think he is a good corner and tall - something we lack. He showed good signs in his 1 year as the main corner, he would have been good oppposite Grimes. He also has a reasonable contract.

Davis is a better player but I think the trade is what woke him up, he would never have become what he is in Miami

You see, I tend to disagree. It might have took a while but with the addition of a guy like Ndamukong Suh I think Vontae would have been motivated to be what he is today. The team was a JOKE when he got traded, lets be honest. Hard to get extremely motivated when you know you are going to mediocre at best.

None. Philbin and company know exactly they type of people they want on the team. Bringing someone back who was let go could upset the apple cart.

Even though I get why we moved Vontae Davis -- he was showing up for practice drunk -- he'd be the one.

Actually, maybe Anthony Fasano. He was very solid, underappreciated for us.

Another thing to point out, if you had Davis on a big deal you would not have Suh or probably Grimes

Vontae Davis would have been scary on this defense. Sucks he wasn't a "Philbin guy" :rolleyes2:

But hey at least we have WILL Davis!

Davis is my choice, but it's hard to argue with your point about the trade/wake up. Smith wasn't as bad as we claimed him to be, compared to what we're touting now I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat

That's true. However, you'd think with different corners Coyle would be wise enough to play them closer or press man. That combined with our pass rush would be nasty. Too bad about the damn lbs though

i'd hope so. however, i also hoped Coyle wouldn't stunt our DL our of position on nearly every play last season and just let them beat up their assignments :idk:
