I keep hearing on this board that people assume he will be a DE for us but why would he not be our NT. His size is very similar to other nose tackles in the league and he seems to be a good run stopper. I personally see him playing both spots.

I think he'll rotate with Jason Ferguson at NT.

Ozzy rules!!

i see him as out DT definitely. he's got good size, he is a good run stopper, and he handles his space, area, well. still has to have a fire under is booty to get him playing harder and more consistant, but he has the ability to play great.

now i also think this, look at who we been picking up in FA... some defensive linemen, Starks at DT, some linebackers with speed.... does this highlight a possible Chris Long at #1??? that would fit well with helping Starks at DT too, and opening up a lot for our LB's. is this all fitting in???? 3-4???

Good question. Both he and Ferguson are over 300#. I can't help but think that we will see a fair amount of 4-3 fronts this year; especially if we draft Chris Long. I guess we'll see.

I don't know I was looking at it just the opposite if we draft Long. Long is about 270 or so - kind of light to play DE in a 3-4. But a good sized 4-3 DE.

C Long definitely needs to bulk up a bit, thats always been said of him as wella s most the d-line kids coming out of draft. but remember Long has played the 3-4 scheme in Virginia his whole tenure there. He's knowledgable of the 3-4, and basically is the only kid in the draft that has played in it. how is he not a good fit for the 3-4??? remember, he will bilk up when training and coming into the NFL.

I think it's pretty clear with all of our moves this offseason that we are switching to the 3/4 fulltime.
yea i know i was just saying that if we were to play 4-3 he would play DT but yea your right we will be a 3-4 team

Yeah you're probably right. He really only needs..what?....20 to 25 lbs and he'd be the prototypical End for the 3-4. As to whether or not he'd be a good fit. I was thinking about the weight, really.
