And would Gase pull the trigger and bring 1 in or just ride with what we have?

I wonder if anyone takes a fall at all for this season. It can't just be about losing Tannehill. And if it is, why wasn't there a proper backup? That's on someone too.

To answer you post, I have been in favor of what the Rams did. Go and get a grizzled vet that doesn't classify as a "hot coordinator" ready to make the HC jump. In recent days, I also envision a couple HC's that were DC gurus, that might be able to stay a while after maybe burnt out by the HC thing - Pagano and Lewis.

Dom Capers is being let go by GB and if the Browns clean house Gregg Williams will be available. Of the 2 I'd go for Williams.

Vic Fangio? Vance Joseph again? Jim Schwartz is probably going to get a HC job again. I see Gase sinking or swimming with Burke.

Yeah well they will both be out a year from now then

Burke returns. The guy learning to be an OC can't fire a guy learning to be a DC

That is what I was afraid of. I agree with what the Rams did also. Guess I was just hoping Gase saw that too. Need a d-coordinator that is proven and will b around for a while. Not just around a while because he sucks.

I agree. People who are not self-reflective or don't hold themselves accountable for their own failures are also too willing to be loyal to the very people who have caused the failure in the first place. Gase is a micromanager who refuses to see that HE is a big part of the reason the Dolphins have underperformed. In his strange way of thinking, he thinks by being even more of a micromanager that he will miraculously turn this mess around. He won't. How many times have we seen it where a coach is on the hot seat and instead of making the necessary staff changes, he sticks with the same old and loses his job. IMHO not only Burke, but at a minimum Christenson and our oline coach needs to be replaced. In fact, the whole staff needs to be reevaluated and replaced by the FO if they feel anyone is not getting it done or if better candidates become available. If Gase doesn't like it he can go too.

Fangio Capers Pagano are all 3-4 guys...Schwartz isnt going to happen so take him outta your mind, wouldn't want Joseph back...Williams may be available...id rather stay with Burke, he will get at least another year....lets see how our young DL, Rae McMillan, Tank and Lippett can play next year...lotta young talent on D
