I think we need a strong push for Lienhart but if he become unavaible which I feel he will. There is a great QB coming out of Vanderbuilt Jay Cutler.

You will love it.... As far as Qb's yes, Cutler has been moving up in the mock drafts (presently at #16 in Mel Kiper's board).
We have brought in Printers, from the CFL, for a workout but he cant be signed until after Jan 2. Also he has several other workouts with other teams, but from what we hear down here he was impresive in his workout.
Then we have Cleo Lemons, who came in the Feeley trade.
Rosenfeld will be a free agent next year so basically:
Gus
Lemons
Rook qb via draft
Free agent qb adquisition
We will find out in the offseason who our next qb will be, but the good thing is that now we have people in the front office who know what they are doing as far as bringing in talented players.

What about Aaron Brooks????
I know i will get trashed on this board for this but from what i understand he will probably be available.
I think he has a good arm and is pretty athletic and could prove to be a threat if we could get good productive line play ( it has gotten a lot better i will admit ). I would reallly like to bring along A young guy for the ride but i am hungry to win now!!!! And I really think we only need a piece or two here and there not a major overhaul as i originally thought!!!! :fire: :eek: :fire: :yell:

I say we go for Cutler. He is the only QB we have a shot at drafting (unless we trade).

Aaron Brooks is another name that has been discussed here quite a bit, with many suporters...and many people who reallly hate the guy.
I say if Linehan thinks highly of this guy he will bring him in. Remember, Randy was GM in New Orleans when he brought him in, so he is a person who knows Brooks very well...

Yeah I know it was a bit of a stretch but i would feel a lot better handing the keys to what could be a potentially dangerous offense over to someone else other than a rookie. For that matter i am not all that disappointed in Gus yet. I prefer him way over someone like Jay Fiedler which wasted at least 4 great defenses while he was here. I do agree we could get someone young but to draft an all pro QB is kinda risky. We would be better off solidifying what we have defensively and offensively and getting a veteran. IMO And besides I like having someone athletic anyway because it could open up the offense even more. Could you imagine being able to do bootlegs effectively in our offense??? that would help eliminate some of the pressure on R and R cutting back. Well anyway that's that i suppose.

Also we could get brooks a lot cheaper than Brees or Rivers anyway. No more trading away our future.

I have heard of him and I have not watched him play so I can't say anything about him. Cutler??? I would be all for getting him and Brooks if possible.
