I remember our old qb coach David Lee had henne doing a drill where there was a buzzer going off after 3 seconds. I think this really screwed him up. I mean really in three seconds all you can do is glance downfield and then check down if you don't see something deep! I sure hope dabol and dorrell aren't doing this!

May I ask how much time you think a QB needs to make a decision ? Just an FYI. Most teams in the NFL, if not all of them, put a time limit for their QB to get rid of the ball and signal it with a blast of an air horm. I have been lucky enough to be to a lot of practices from various teams and what we are doing is no different then what any other NFL team does.

You gotta risk it to get the biscuit. Henning just didn't do that.

Its good advice. You'll get killed and lose the ball if you hold it 3 seconds or more .... that will catch up with you fast.

If you can get the ball out real quick & surprise the D, even better ... that's what the good QBs do ... don't give the D a chance to react by reading the QB & play developing.

I think what ruined Henne is his inability to play QB effectively.

What ruined Henne is the Miami dolphins putting the franchise on his shoulders.

This is more complex then just an air horn or inability. Henne was expected to execute an ancient offense that held everyone in to block sending only 2-3 guys into the pattern. No one can succeed in that. Additionally Henning and Sparano had little confidence in him as well as Henne's slow and fatal decision making and inability to read defenses.

This is his first year on the roster as the best QB and i am anxious to see if he is elected team captain. That will speak volumes what this team thinks of him.

His inability to look off a defender and constantly locking on to a receiver didn't help either.

I find it funny that people make the Henning excuse for Henne, yet QB's like Pennington and Delhomme (who were far from elite QB's) had good success in his offense, yet its Hennings fault that Henne didn't succeed?

Dont get me wrong, I wasn't a fan of Henning's offense/play calling and I honestly do hope for the sake of the Dolphins that Henne adapts better to Daboll's offense, but you simply cannot blame Henning for Chad Henne's poor displays.

People will point fingers in any direction but Chad's in an effort to defend him. No one wants to admit that we've whiffed on yet another QB and wasted several years. It's best to have 7 win seasons for three and four years as opposed to ONE 1 - 15 season or whatever it takes to land a franchise QB that turns this thing around for many many years.

Don't understand that logic.

but, but, but hennings offense didnt work with anyone and it ruined QBs...

can't read defenses unless it's man-to-man. But even a 6 year old can read man-to-man.

Henne can't read any other D. All a defense has to do is mix their coverages and disguise presnap in cover 3, cover 2, or quarters coverage etc and Henne and the dolphins offense are screwed

ps- notice that henne had a nice day yesterday but the problem is it was against man-to-man the dolphins defense was in. Other teams know already that henne sucks against any other defense, and that's why it was so rare for henne to see man defense after the first few games of the season.

Only the raiders were stupid enough later last season to play man 2 man exclusively throughout the game..
