What should be our #1 draft priority next year? Should we continue to build our OL? Draft a QB or LB? How about Tim Bowens? Has his knee's finally had enough?

I picked to continue to build our OL. IMO we are losing the battle there and will continue to do so if we don't add a quality OL or two.

:) :) :)

In the draft I believe we will only have a 1st and 3rd (I don't believe Ricky's going to get his 1500 with the current setup and we spent that 4th rounder on Jay Williams).

So we go with the best offensive linemen we can get. Then in the 3rd I say we go with yet another linemen. Through FA we sign a new WR in place of McKnight (I can't see us keeping him at that salary). As far as the biggest allocation of our FA $$$ I would like to see us partner J.T up with a solid DE who can keep the double teams off J.T. It would be the greatest thing we could do on defense that would benefit all areas. Not to mention we can cut a couple DE's (keep Williams/Ogunleye) to help pay for that.

I voted QB. After watching this debacle with Lucas, it's obvious that we need someone in there who can handle the duties of an NFL QB job and Lucas isn't that guy. With the number of quality QB prospects that will be available one should fall to us in the latter half of the first round. Remember, Dan Marino was a late first round pick and Brett Favre was taken in the third round.

I was going to go with QB but I really would like to see what Sage can do. He may turn into our QB of the future. So I went with O-line.

I picked other. I believe that 90% of the time you should pick the best player available. Just my opinion.

Next year, our oline will look like this:
OT: Mark Dixon, Todd Wade
OG: Jamie Nails, Seth McKinney
OC: Tim Ruddy

If we decide to release Ruddy (probable), we will probably move McKinney to center, but he will start somewhere next season. If Dixon retires, then tackle is obviously our top pick. If he doesn't and Ruddy goes, then we gotta get a guard. If all 5 stay, then we won't need anything at OL next year I guess, maybe a lot round pick for depth. If we don't go OL, then our best bet would be to get a very good OLB who can start and we can bench Greenwood, and if Greenwood shows up then we can release Rodgers, but I am not sure what the cap hit would be on a Rodgers release.

Mark Dixon is a FA and may retire after this season. Todd Wade will probably hold onto his job for now but next season will be make or break for him. Nails is a FA and I have a feeling Tim Ruddy won't be back either. I think Perry will still be around but he will be asked to restructure (He did do that good job blocking 2 guys during ricky's outside run in the 4th.).

Here is how I see the line with what we have now:

OT: Todd Wade, Draft Pick/FA pickup *2
OG: Nails (if resigned), Perry, Draft pick
OC: Seth McKinney, FA pickup

I say we take the best available player at a need position. No RBs/FBs. No CBs. No TEs. Everything else if fair game.

I don't think we'll take a QB either. Jay will be the man next year. And I think Dave would like to give Sage a looksee.

I feel we can rule out a DT as well. I think DW is a big believer in the Jimmy system: Take your skill players early, OL and DTs late.....unless someone really special comes along.

I also believe that we'll bide our time at Safety as well. Especially with Jim Bates running the show. Those guys are interchangable centerfielders in our system.

I think Dave likes what he has in Wallay and David Bowens. I think DB beats out Wally again next year if he stays healthy.

So IMO, it'll be WR, OL, or LB in that order.

but i do beleive besides taylor or DLINE sux...

Oguneley has 2-3 sax all season bwoens and chester suck (only good at stopping the run) and have barely no sax....our LBs suck at stopping the run and dont make big plays beisdes thomas..2ndary is good but we need a SS.......QB we need....WR we need becuz Chambers needs some help so he can hav some favorable matches...and our OLINE is old, unhealthy and stingy...but we are still finding ways to win so dont worry....a team will never be perfect

I'm with the OLine. I say we trade our 1st rounder for at least 2 2nd round picks. We need better and healthier linemen...

We should forgo QB this season, try to develop Sage... Hopefully, Eli Manning will choose to stay one more season at Ole Miss, and we can pick him up in the 2004 draft... Seeing as many of the teams in need of QBs of the future will pick them up in THIS YEAR's draft...

Eli Manning
Ricky Williams
Randy McMichael
Chris Chambers

I voted OL/LT...

... I think the rest of the OL besides LT is as solid as it gets in any position on this team.
