I just was wondering what the majority of the people thought we should do with Donnie Jones.

I Personally think we should match his contract because If we lose him we will more than likely have to draft a punter with a 4th, 5th, or 6th round pick while only recieving a 7th round pick as compensation.

don't match it. Take the 7th rounder. I like Donnie Jones but to be honest Punters are a dime a dozen.

Who drafts a punter?

No way. Match the contract.

It's not a big contract and it's what he should be getting paid anyway so why not give it to him?
We don't need another 7th rounder.

match it man, i like jones........hes probly better then the guy we would draft with the rams pick we would get

Match it... We have the $ and the cap space and he is worth it so why take a chance on someone unproven

hey man, only 2-4 punters get drafted a year, take the 7th, you can find a good punter in the 7th round, there is a lot of colleges to choose from, and that guy will be cheaper.

Terms of the contract: 5 year, $5.85 million . According to Rosenhaus, the offer sheet pays Jones a $1.175 million signing bonus with base salaries of $510,000 in 2007, $700,000 in 2008, $1 million in 2009, $1.1 million in 2010 and $1.1 million in 2011.

Anyway, I think we should resign him. His net average last year fell but that's more of an indictment of the special teams coverage play. He can put it inside the 20 like no one's business. I forget what game it was last year but we punted 3 times on the opponents side of the field and each time he landed it inside the 5.

ummm i dont know.. hmm.. oh. right. remember when the seahawks drafted a punter in the 7th round in 2004 and turned out to prove himself to be a fantastic player? Yeah, his name was donnie jones.

match it.
