The more I think about Saban and the Ricky situation the more my head hurts. "Whats the freakin point here?" Im hoping that there is a master plan here behind this move. It just seems off!:shakeno:

The point???....

I think the point of allowing Ricky to return, other than improving our RB position, is getting what we invested into him.....

There is no risk in adding Ricky now that Brown has been drafted, and it's great insurance in case Brown needs time to adjust. Or vice versa, if Ricky goes nuts again....

Either way, we stand to capitalize on Ricky returning whether it be for solid depth, or tade bait in 2006....

PHINZ RULE!!!

The point is exactly what the #2 poster said. It would be good for the Fins if we can get some value for Ricky. Build him back to a high level player and then trade him for something of worth.

You might want to think about something else, This may be too much for you to digest and your head may explode........................

The point is to win football games, Ricky with his head screwed on is a very good runningback who can help us win games, if he comes back and establishes himself again he may have some trade value down the road to this organization.

Despite what is being said, Ricky will have to play for 5 or 6 more years at least with the obligations he has incurred with his various children in the form of child support.

REALLY I can see Saban wants talent and I'm sure he wants to win and feels Ricky is remorseful. Bottom line is to win games and he talked to his leaders to gauge their interest in him and feelings.

No one fan would be out of line in questioning his reasons or detriment, to the teams attitude, in bringing him back though.

As Marino said people make mistakes and we can't condemn him forever....
we'll just have to see how it all unfolds. having two great backs cannot be a
........bad situation

Well I Trust Sababn If He Thinks It's Good For The Team Then I Do Also And I Hated Ricky When He Retired.

Ricky is trade bait in a year or two period. No way do you pay a man 3 million dollars to be a backup RB.

The bottem line in pro sports is to win and if Ricky can help us win then its a good thing for him to return.

YES it is a good thing if Ricky is able to return and produce, but I don't want Ricky to fail another drug test and then have him be a disruption for the whole team like he was last year. Hopefully Nick can sit down with him when he gets into camp and really see if Ricky is serious about playing and serious about staying off the weed. Remember the saying, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on ME!"

I agree with you. I'am sure that coach Saban and Ricky have talked about this several times.
