What is with all the people saying such pessimistic things after our WINS??? I see tons of people saying " don't get excited" "this teams still not very good" "we're only gonna win 6 games" etc etc etc.....

1. Have you even looked at the second half of our schedule??? It's about the easiest 8 game stretch I've ever seen for a pro team..... MUCH MUCH easier than the first half.

2. Did you even watch the texans game and realize how easily this team could be 4-3 right now???

3. 6 wins???? So you really think we're gonna go 3-6 for our last 9 games?????????????

PLEASE look at the schedule.... this team could easily end up with 9-10 wins this year if they keep playing at the same level...

I mean come on we lost 2 games by last-minute 4'th quarter drives... this team is not far from 5-2... it's NOTHING like last year....

There is already a thread "Why the Hate" that is saying basically the same thing.

yahhh... ummm... except that thread is a whole one sentence that says "Why does everyone on this site hate eachother"

yah... exactly the same... lol??? ???????

Ok, I'll have to say this again.

The pessimism comes from past experience. We had a similar start with Saban in 2005 and everyone thought we were headed in the right direction. However, we proceded to crash and burn.

That's why people are taking this team's successes with a grain of salt this season.

umm.. you mean the season where we started 2-5???

the season where we ended up winning 6 straight games at the end and finishing 9-7?? THE ONLY 9-7 team to not make the playoffs that year??

Oh yah that season... ok ........... ??????

I guess by "crash and burn" you must mean "win the last 6 games of the season and barely miss the playoffs"

????

By crash and burn he probably means....

Going on a 6 game winning streak. Acquiring a 'great QB' (cough, cough) in the offseason, and listening to all the hype from the media that said we would be in the SB in 06.

All of that just to crash and burn when the season started. coming out of the gates with an 0-4 record.

Oh, and here's a question for you. Why do you have a thread about how easy our schedule is, then you basically say the SAME THING in this thread with 2 of your 3 points? Both threads you pretty much just same 'please look at the schedule.'

Are you a cheerleader?

I think you are confusing the pessimists with the realists.

The realists are saying we'll probably end up around .500 and miss the playoffs.

The pessimists are saying "Player A sucks and will never develop" after 1 game or "Coach X should be fired because we aren't undefeated'

I do not know about second half of schedule nor have I looked at it. But I do feel this. There are no easy wins in NFL anymore. Games I thought we should win past present or whenever doesn't apply.

I thought we should have won the Texans. But they always have come to play and beat us. Arizona was a team you could have looked at in past and said yeah we should have this game in bag. But they made us look like we an expansion team. Personally I think Buffalo should have beat us. And I had thought New England would destroy us. Instead we put it to them. I go crazy trying to figure out my football picks in work pools. I could go on but you all get the idea.

It's not pessimism as much as it is forced realism. What I mean by this is it's the cavalier optimism of "we're gonna win 10 games and make the playoffs" that crashes and burns every time we don't win that makes it almost unbarable here. So a lot of people who love coming here without immature knee jerk reactionary style threads have to try to keep a lid on the whole look what we might do type stuff.

We had serious momentum going into the texan game, we messed that up by being a little overconfident and coming out flat, our fans were ready to pounce if we win that game, now we have another chance to build up the same momentum this sunday against denver, if we somehow can win that game our fanbase will be right there ready for a threegame homestand with a lot of confidence about our team and the direction of it...To me its about trusting our team and knowing they will come out with a consistent performance level. So far they have not done that, we've been a little jeckyl and hyde..if we come out sunday like a bunch of crazed dogs then i know we will have learned our lesson from the texan game. Regardless of the result i will be happy and pumped for their future, if they happen to win i will be hyped to the 10th degree because with a win we can realisticly think playoff hunt...which is so excited considering none of us thought we would be in the hunt...Thats exciting, Thats a story, a story of a team that was one of the worst ever to a team that noone wants to play.

You answered your own question when stating "did you see the Houston game we could be 4-3" . You can't look at a schedule and assume anything, there are games that look like easy wins that for some reason or another you don't win. St. Louis looked like a cake walk three weeks ago and now their playing great football.

Some people put things in perspective and don't crown teams champions before they win anything. This is not meant to piss in anyones cereal, we just don't think that we're great after a win and then want to fire everyone after we lose, aswell we don't think Ginn is a bust after one season just like he's not a great WR after one great game.
