What the heck is with the national media?? THey hate us?

By getting rid of Dan Henning we gain two more victories. Imagine of our secondary could have held on to 1/4 of the balls they dropped last year - talk about game changing situation. I know if we win, they will be back all over the Dolphins jockstraps - so just win and shut them up.

Definitely true also, but just because theres more coverage doesnt mean it has to be negative. And most certainly once we become winners year in and year out we will get recognition. But we've been 7-9 two straight years, fair to say thats middles of the pack, yet perennial bottom dwellers of the league either do not get mentioned or get so positively, in a "headed in the right direction" piece. Yet the Fins are doomed to being horrible for the rest of their existence? It's biased to say the least.

All I'm saying is there are FAR worse teams than us, yet they dont get publicly criticized from top to bottom like we do. Though fair play has never been the media's strong suit.

True. Like I said, I don't know that I've ever seen things so unruly around here and in the media.

Alright, let me take a devil's advocate look at this and step into my hater shoes for a second. These are the main reasons I can see for them to say we will suck so bad. Remember, I am trying to step into the mind of a person who is not interested in this team whatsoever and may even want us to fail, which is difficult being a life long Dolphins fan.

#1. Henne. They see Henne. They see the 33 INTS to 27 TDS. They see the inconsistant play. They dont like it. Preseason is preseason, they dont care about that.

#2. Running backs. They see a rookie that hasnt shown much of anything. They see Bush who gets hurt...A LOT. Then they see us struggling against 2nd and 3rd teamers in preseason at some points. Its so bad that they throw out the preseason excuse and view it as a huge negative.

#3. Which brings us to #3, the OLINE. Messing with it again and to top it off they stink on the right side. Yes, a rookie is in there and that makes them even more concerned. Long was out due to injury and they problably think that he wont make much of a difference and/or that since he's dinged up, he may easily go down again and back to preseason OLine play we go.

#4. DEFENSE. The defense is solid so they cant really look at this and complain much here except for maybe the pass defense outside of Davis. Benny Sapp at nickle is a concern. Although most nickles around the league are, but they dont see that they just say Benny who? They still have visions of TEs blowing us up and need to see how our LBers take care of that mess first before they feel better. FS is non-spectacular and all we do is DROP INTS. Is Soliai really worth 12 mil. or is it that we dont have a better option?

#5. Last is the FO. They think that our FO is problably very mediocre and due to the pressure is going to fold. They, problably look at Ireland like a stubborn *** and doofus after the Bryant episode and this past offseason 'coach search'. Sparano they may like, but overall is a mediocre coach that for the most part wont be able to stem the tide if we start off bad (1-4 or whatever) and we'll drown easily.

Four things:

1. The media remembers the Dolphins courting Harbaugh only to stay with Sparano. They assume it is a bad situation, but ignore that the players and coaching staff fully suport Sparano. Or that Sparano is completely changing the offensive scheme to adapt to the ever evolving league. All they see is what happened in January and ignore everything in between.

2. They believe that Henne is not good and not a leader. They ignore that he has been a completely different QB in camp and preseason than last year and has become a leader. They ignore that he organized practices during the lockout and that players that didn't believe in him last season, like Marshall, do believe in him this year.

3. They see a 1-7 home record, but ignore that the Dolphins were 6-2 on the road and included a win against the eventual Super Bowl Champion Packers. Or that they would have beaten the Steelers if it were not for a blown call by the refs.

4. They point to that Miami can't compete in a division with the Patriots and Jets. Yet fail to acknowledge that the Dolphins have the most wins(among the other three East teams) against the Patriots since 2000 and have won 4 of the past 5 against the Jets.

The Dolphins on paper are Sparano's most talented team. To think they are a 3-4 win team is ridiculous. This team will be in the playoff hunt.

So what you're saying is? The media is ****ing retarded. Therefore if you're complaining about the opinion of said, retard(s), wha the hell does that make you? Not you you nubs, the people constantly complaining about what the media says.
