What the Next Chapter for the Miami Dolphins Offensive Line Could Look Like in 2014

Yeatmen could not grab a starting spot on last years oline. He needs to go. He is a journeyman TE, or a blocker in goal line lined up as a TE. He is not an oline player.
I am open to all possibilities because this unit could not be much worse.
I would keep Pouncey, Brenner, Garner, and McKinnie. Pouncey is the only starter among that group. The rest of those guys can go to Dallas. A big turnover is needed.

I prefer the following:

LT- Either Eugene Monroe or Branden Albert
LG - David Yankey (First Round Stanford)
C - Mike Pouncey
RG - Jerry Asamoah (Free Agent Chiefs)
RT - Antonio Richardson ( Tennessee) or Jack Mewhort (Ohio State) in round 2 or Billy Turner (North Dakota State) in round 3

We should be able to afford those two free agents and still have back up vets should the rookies not be ready to start right away.

So basically you want our first 2 picks to be OL? Not going to happen. Mewhort is a 4th rounder at best, Richardson will be taken in the late 1st-early 2nd, Turner in the 2nd-3rd, and Yankey will be available in the 2nd. Monroe and Albert are going to want big $ imo.

There is no bigger hole than our O-line on this team, as to your opinions...........................................

Where people get drafted isnot in granite yet, nor will it be determined until draft day, and even then it is often wrong.

Mewhort displayed great knee bend and better athleticism than many though in the senior bowl practices, he was somebody knowbody enjoyed going against.

Yankey is a first rounder in my opinion who can play guard or tackle.....all american.

Yes the free agents will want nice contracts, and we have the cap space and better spend it on two for this line if we hope too contend at all in 2014.

Remember the 1990 draft?, thats about where we are right now with a much better defense.........Richmond Webb & Keith Simms #1 & #2.

Not exactly a strange concept to go OL 1 & 2.

Brenner was a great fill in guy but he is an average backup at best not a starter. Clabo was both a disaster on the field and a misfit for the scheme. People say no to the big money LT but when you have a BIG problem you have to fix it with big money guys.

LT- Albert
LG- Martin
C- Pouncy
RG- Asamoah
RT- Moses or Hurst

Backups
LT- Mickinnie, Thomas
LG- Brenner, Garner
C- Garner
RG- Garner, Brenner
RT- Mckinnie, Thomas

We're not too different...I'd be OK with your RT picks.

I like Yankey over Martin because of atleticism.

Best pulling guard in the country and he is only junior, his sophomore year he replaced Jonathan Martin at LT And only gave up one sack all year.. so he has the true versatility to play LT as well if needed....smash mouth player.

I like Martin...I just think Yankey is better.

Yankey is more of a second round guy so realistically you can get both and but marting at RT and Yankey at LG. I want 2 OL guys in the first 3 rounds so either way that would be fine by me. Moses or hurst would be third round guys so instead of them go DT in 3rd instead of 2nd which is what i have in my mock draft and get yankey in the 2nd.

I don't know if having another player named martin is such a good idea. He had better use his first initial with his last name...

I don't think any more OLinemen from Stanford is a good idea either.

Draft the guy who replaced the snake in college? Not brilliant from a PR standpoint. We've had enough embarrassments.

Just because 1 guy from stanford is soft doesn't make them all. John martin obviously had other problems that wouldnt link to a school. You cant just stop drafting from a top school because one player ended up bad.
