What the O line is missing

They have a guy who probably could be a top 10 pulling guard on opening day in Mike Pouncey, that is how athletic and talented this guy is. Put him at LG and grab Ohara or Gurode for Center, move Ritchie to RG and you have 3 or 4 guys you can throw at RT.

This is the only criticism I have this preseason . . . Tony doesn't wanna tinker but I think he should in this case. But ultimately its his decision and his job on the line.

if it is not broken you don't fix it
This o line is more than broken it is a train wreck
A broken dam a Niagara falls waiting to happen
unfortunately it will take more than one piece to fix

What the O line is missing

The Oline is missing a LG, a RG, and a RT.

Basically, 60% of this Oline is sh*t.

It's shocking that this regime, who has invested so much and places such a priority and emphasis on Oline, is going into their 4th season with this garbage unit. Aside from Jake Long, the rest of this Oline resembles the horrible Buffalo Bills line of the past few years.

True; however, there has to be injury concerns with the amount of possibilities out there or I would think they would bring them in to at least look at them. It's the only logical explanation.

That and the fact that signing guys after week 1 means the contract wouldn't be guaranteed.

But when you have an all important division game in that first week, you're playing with fire if you have potential upgrades available and you don't consider those options.

I have to say that this would probably make our line 100% better than what it is right now. Personally I wouldnt mind keeping Incognito at LG and moving Pouncey to right, as to not screw up any cohesivness on the left side. But anything to get Columbo off the starting line would be a vast improvement, even if it means slowing Pouncey's development at center for one year until we can improve the right side.

One thing is for certain given history and what has transpired to this point. The OL is going to be one of the most scrutinized units in a long time. More so than Henne I believe.

Funny. This is exactly what I did in Madden 12 when I started a Franchise. Dropped Colombo's sorry *** to waivers, moved Carey back to RT, picked up Gurode and shifted Pouncey to RG. Poof, better line and Bush has 500 yards after two games.

Pouncey is not a mauler type you need at the RG position, Incognito most definately is. IMO, I would have kept Incognito at center, for the limited practice he had last year he did very well moving the bodies around. He did well in 2006 when Steven Jackson made the pro bowl for his running, mostly up the middle.
LT Jake
LG Pouncey
C Incognito
RG ok, I admit, Garner is probably our best option
RT Murtha, again, our best option available

The above, IMO, would have been a really nice sound Oline. With Incognito controlling the point of attack and push from Garner and Pouncey, even though Pouncey does not get much push IMO, short yardage would not be a problem hwere folks.
