I just thought I'd throw my two cents in on our draft this past weekend:

1. Pat White is a GREAT football player, I'm not sure where he will end up, but the FO has a plan and no matter what position he ends up at he WILL shine!

2. Our FO was very unimpressed by the talent we had at CB and WR. CB was the obvious position, but I had no idea the FO would take two WR (three if you count Pat White) with the amount of depth we had already. I thought about this for awhile and realized that we had four good WR, but no standout guy. Bess, Camarillo, and Wiliford all don't really make any contributions to special teams. So at least Wiliford is gone and we will see a battle during training camp as who will be the last man cut.

3. The FO has a lot of faith in Soliai, at least for another year. I'm not sure what the FO would have done had Ron Brace been there at the top of the second, but I think Pat White still would have been the pick. Soliai played well last year when he wasn't suspended and I think he is a good backup to Ferguson.

4. The FO was relying on Jason Taylor as a backup plan (at least that is my opinion). With some solid pass rushers in the second and third still availible, our FO decided to go for playmakers on the extremities rather than going after a SOLB. I think the FO was pleased with Roth in his first season as a SOLB and they want to see how he handles another year and plant o sign Jason as an additional pass rusher.

5. I know a lot of people think that Miami possibly reached on a lot of olayers, but where do most people get their info from? Mel? Todd? Who? After it is all said and done our FO has a team of scouts who know what our FO is looking for and obviously saw something in these players that these so called analyst didn't. So lay off the "we treached for this guy and that guy" banter and realize that any other team could've had these guys rated just as high and they could have been gone if they weren't taken in the spots they were drafted.

6. Our FO has a MO. It is to draft big, tough, physical players. Well we drafted two CBs over 6'0" and two WR over 6'2" and I don't really need to explain how tough and physical Pat White has been his whole collegiate career.

I am very pleased with the outcome with our draft. We left some obvious positions of need unresolved (NT and SOLB), but it takes more than a couple of years to fix all holes. Every team has needs that they have to address all the time and it is a continous cycle of trying to fill the next void. Look at it this way we drafted two very good CBs that could possibly be starting for us for the next 5-10 years. We added two big WRs, one at 6'5" and the other at 6'2". Last but not least we got a great football player in Pat White. This guy will be a game changer in the NFL whether that be at QB, WR, RB, or just in the Wildcat, he will have a major impact on this team. He has been doubted by many people his whole life and has had the strength and mental toughness to keep his head down and make big plays. Like I said, just my two cents.

GO PHINS!
