What to do now, considering Peterson's injury

Now that the rumors have been broken (no pun intended) and confermed about Adrian Peterson's re-injured collar Bone, it seems unlikely Brady Quinn will fall to the Redskins where we possibly could have traded up to get him.

I think the best thing to do now would be to trade or practically give Culpepper to the Raiders (I don't care if they will only part with their 7th round pick 10 years from now). In doing this the Raiders and Al Davis will then most likely select Calvin Johnson and then the Browns will take Russell at 3 and Quinn will still be there for us at 6, or possilbly 9.

If we can't do that I think we need to do one of 2 things. First, try to trade our 1st and both of the seconds to move up and get Quinn, before the Browns take him. I know that give up all those picks will hurt us but this is the closest we've been to a franchise QB since Marino.

Lastly, If none of those options work I say we trade down and pick up more picks. No one at 9 would warrant the pick, so we should trade down pick up another 2nd or 3rd round pick and select Joe Staley or someone else that we would get better value from later on in the draft.

If Quinn was gone to the Browns at #3, I would trade down and draft a guy like Greg Olsen or Chris Houston if we received a lower pick.

I agree with you thats a lot to give up for Quinn, but i think at some point you have to man up and make a trade. Thats hard for me to say but I am more open to trading picks to acquire Quinn, then Trent Green.

As far as trading down, people have mentioned the Packers, also the Broncos might possible be looking to trade up for a Tackle after trading George Foster.

I agree with you thats a lot to give up for Quinn, but i think at some point you have to man up and make a trade. Thats hard for me to say but I am more open to trading picks to acquire Quinn, then Trent Green.

People have mentioned a lot of teams as possible trade partners but with Peterson's injury becoming public, it is probably unlikely any team will trade up for him.

Dude, stay off the mari jane. Quinn is not worth ruining the rest of the draft over and leaving us with all those needs at OL, WR, and depth.

Whether we trade for Green and keep Culpepper or trade Culpepper, we can get a QB of Quinn's caliber at #40. Again, stay off the mari jane dude. :shakeno:
