Wake will be 33 next month, and has not been quite as good as the last few years. We can likely trade him for a high pick to a contending team.

However, has anyone seen opposing teams game planning for him with double teams? Think that has not helped OV and the rest on a pass rush?

Without Wake, we become very ordinary, at best, at getting to the QB. Something to think about.

I loved what Wake gave us, BUT let's get what we can for him. Time to get younger at that spot. He's clearly on the decline even though he played great yesterday. He's too far away from being consistently good now.

Honestly, his value will only diminish as we move forward. If we feel like we will field a contender next year and have a legit shot of going deep into the playoffs, then you keep him as he will help the team win. If you feel like we are still another year or two away, his value will only go down, so moving him a year too early is better than a year too late.

Tough call.

You gotta get what you can for Wake at this point and go with the pups you have.

I doubt you get more than a 4th rounder, a 3rd at a push with a team really close to a championship run and missing a pass rushing specialist. It might be of more value to us to have him as a specialist rather than as a starter taking all the downs and getting worn down over the season as seems to have been the case this year, maybe time to give Shelby a shot at playing 1st team and bring in Wake when it's long yardage.

This way, you might get 2 more years out of him. I guess it all depends on how valuable you view that draft pick and if you can get something that will give you the talent level of a Wake, even if it's just for 2 years - and considering Coach Philbin and Co have one more year to prove themselves, I suspect they'd rather have Wake than not.

EVERYONE is tradable for the RIGHT price.

They always rotate the linemen.

Get picks for him if possible or trade, if it's in the teams best interest and we get good value, do it. Otherwise, keep him.

He is the best player on the defense. He stays and plays out his deal. High character guy.

We have no-one even close on defense ready to replace him. He is 33, so you aren't going to get any decent compensation for a top-tier DE.

You play him until you have someone better because they are either great, or Wake's play deteriorates.

He is not only our best defensive player, he is easily the most professional person on this team, and one of the few true leaders. We are not in a position that we can give up such a quality individual. Especially for the mid round pick he would garner.

Are we rebuilding or making a run next season?

I think you have to plan to make a run, with Tannehill approaching contract time and several excellent players getting older. Sure, if you get a crazy offer you move him, but I wouldn't for a mid-round pick. He's more valuable for a potential run next season.

Key is to figure out how to use him effectively. When he gets doubled, other guys simply have to win.

all of these trade wake threads make me want to hurl my computer through a window.

At 33 his value to our team, culture, and d line rotation is a hell of a lot higher than any mid round pick we will get from a trade.

He's not as good as he use to be but unless you get a 1 don't trade him.

I honestly would not get rid of him. Who do we have to replace him. Vernon seemed to tank in the second half of the season. Why get rid of him when he will probably get a lot of sacks again next year.

He's on the decline as he now Disappears for games at a time, he's going to be 33, he's terrible and a huge liability in the run game,
with all that said I love his play over the years and he's been a class act and leader by example for our Miami Dolphins.

Do you hold up the progress of the youngsters trying to milk a declining Wake for everything he has
for the next year or two?

I can see him become a situational pass rushers but for the $8.2 million base salary next season?

Ware gets $7 million from Denver so Wake's salary isn't really that far off for a dominant pass rusher
as far as Ware, no one wanted to trade for him last year and he was released and I think
the same could happen to Wake.

I'm torn between keeping him or letting him walk(doubt a trade could be worked out)
I'm glad I don't have to make that off season decision it's a very tough call regarding a great Dolphin
