with free agency right around the corner. what trades do u see us trying to make or what trades do u wish we would make? would u rather trade guys for picks guys for players or picks for players. i honestly think we should try to move joey porter i think the guy was great dont get me wrong but i dont think we could ever get more for him than now.

Trade Porter for what? I understand the desire for more picks, but you have to have someone to replace him with or you just open another hole. I would like to trade Beck to anyone that will take him just to get those threads to stop, but reality is unless we get what the FO feels is adequite compensation for him it won't happen and the Beck threads will continue. It's hard to trade players when your at the stage in the rebuilding process that we are in bc we don't have good depth anywhere. If you trade your starter and don't have someone waiting in the wings to fill that rols your really just taking a step backward. This makes your mid round picks that much more important. Unfortunately our previous FO's coultdnt really get the early picks right much less he mid rounders.

Contrary to popular demand the only position I think we can afford to trade away for pics at this point is.

TE- Most likely this will not happen since we have alot of 2 TE packages. And having Fasano and Martin who can both catch and run with best of them is one of the few strengths we have on Offense right now.

RB-It would have to be either Ricky or sad to say Cobbs. Only if the Trifecta think they can replace Cobbs in this years draft or FA with someone equivilent.

WR-Bess/Camarillo play almost the same exact role for our Offense. One of them wont be here come 2010.

QB- Beck would be the odd man out. Unless something spectacuar happens this preseason. Or maybe Henne comes into his own and someone comes in and knocks our socks off with a Penny trade offer.

Now again, I dont think any of the above will happen. But if there is any chance of us trading away someone it would one of the above.

But, as I stated earlier in another post, only way we make a trade is if the trade is in our favor as in the Dallas trade last season or the L. Booker trade.

Other than Beck I don't see any of those guys getting traded.
2010...who knows what will happen after this season. I'd be willing to bet lots of guys on our roster today won't be here in 2010.

i think i differ a little here i dont know all the contract figures but porter was awesome without anyone helping him out much but he is getting older i am sure and i would be willing to bet even if we got ware to play on the otherside of porter he wont put up the same stats next year get rid of him on a high note not when he aint worth nothing

Trade Porter and you lose a lot more than an aging OLB. Who will take over his spot than can be remotely effective? You lose the only pash rush threat we have and it will make our already suspect secondary look that much worse. Not to mention he was the emotional leader on that defense. He made big plays when we needed them, we don't have anyone to plug in that can do 1/2 of what he did.

thats y i said not sure about the contract but if we traded him for picks or for a decent younger player more than likely we r saving money so we could sign a suggs a peppers who i am a huge fan of but dont want him to see if he is good in a 3-4 on our team let another team take its chance with him but any of the younger olb's i think would be fine replacements

Peppers- a 6'7'' 290lb OLB....too much risk for the money he would cost.
Suggs- I don't think he gets out of Baltimore, but even if he did I would be wary of him as well considering the hype adalius thomas had coming out of Baltimore and has been less than spectacular in NE.
Trade him for picks - what do you think we will get out of him? Definately not a 1st. Not a high enough pick IMO to get a player who will be able to come in and make an immediate impact. If we were going to trade Porter for picks it should have been last year. I know his #'s were terriable last year but at this point if we want to be contenders in the afc east we need impact OLB's because a 3-4 is useless without them.

yeah and harrison got cut like 6 times or some **** and lama woodley i know who he was cause im a michigan fan but he came out of nowhere i didnt think he would be that good what if we could get a 2nd rounder for him we cant find a guy to come in and compete i honestly dont think well have a fantastic year this year worst schedule so i think will have a pretty good draft pick next year and we would have some young lb's to figure out who would go where i think wake will be able to play in 2010 full time and if we draft 1 or 2 olb's someone is gonna turn out and theres always free agency

so your saying we should just throw in the towel on this season bc the schedule is tougher?? You sure your not a trolling jests fan?

come on ur saying that with this 1 player we have a reason to think were gonna win it all NO it takes alot more than just him im saying we can get younger and not really lose a whole lot we r trying to get younger right r have i missed something im saying we take a guy that made himself worth something and get what we can get while he's on a high note and still compete the same 1 player dont make or break u also yes i think 2010 will be a better year for us im on the henne bandwagon give penn another shot cause he earned it but are schedule is brutal and we played alot of tight games last year things may not go our way next year

imm a huge dolphins fan though after there 1-15 season last year i went and got a dolphins tattoo on my right forearm so im pretty dedicated i'd love for us to win it all this year with or without porter i just think we might have a tougher time this year

The only players i think could be traded are Beck and mabey Satele.

But even those trades i dont see happening because i think both could help us in some way.

Im not sure you get a 2nd for Porter, even if we did I wouldnt be a fan of the deal. Other than NT, OLB is the most important position in a 3-4. Maybe I'm in the minority but Im not willing to throw in the towel on the 09 season bc the schedule gets tougher. Bottom line our defense is better with Porter than a rookie we pick up in the 2nd round.

How does a Qb who is inactive for 16 games going to help us?
