When Bellichick challenged that no-call on that punt play, alleging that the Giants had too many men on the field, seemed a little fishy to me. I know it doesn't matter now, the Giants prevailed, but that challenge still intrigues me.
So I'm wondering, are teams allowed to challenge no calls now? I thought there was a strict parameter to work with regarding challenges, and of the things you cannot challenge is penalties and non-penalties. Therefore, I dont really think the officials were suppost to review that play. I think that challenge could potentially lead to a pandora's box of future challengeable plays, like non-calls on pass interference, holding, roughing the passer. I dont think you can challenge those, and I dont think that too many men on the field is eligible to be challenged either. Thoughts?
