We are through a preseason game and a half now. We can start to see a little more about this team for 2005. I will say more positives than negatives. But we have one big negative.

What we have
RB's
WR's
O-line looks much better (1st team did well tonight vs Jax)
Pass Rush looks good
Punt Returner and a good one!

What we dont' have
A friggin QB!
Same stinkin Special Teams coach

Frerotte and Feeley are not very good players. Both are career back-up's. Not much better than Fiedler. I have little confidence in both to be honest. I had fears going into the offseason. After 6 quarters of preseason football, my fears look to be a reality. Hopefully someone stands out and does so soon.

The punt return for a TD tonight was a sad reminder one of the assistants that was kept from the Wannstedt era was Armstrong! WHY OH WHY!

We have one of the better special teams units in the league. I wouldn't worry about them. Wanny drafted plenty of players to play on ST:D

I think Gus is going to work for us this season. And I like Keith Armstrong...I think we can tighten up things there.

Then why did we give up a punt return for a TD! :shakeno:

I have to agree with Mike. Major lack of talent at Quarterback. Instead of Roth we should have taken a shot with someone.

It's preseason and they missed a few tackles on that play. I'm not worried about the ST's.

I would be. I am.

Go ahead and worry about nothing. Our ST's were great last year and they will be this year.

Our special teams haven't been "GREAT" in years. Maybe they weren't terrible last year but don't just throw around the word "GREAT".

Once we added Welker things improved. But for years prior to Welker arriving our special teams stunk. Especilaly in returns. And before Turk returned our punting situation was terrible.

When did you have time to evaluate Feeley's play?

All of last year. The Chicago game. And the few plays tonight........nothing has changed.

actually I was at the game Monday and our ST was VERY slow getting down the field...we do need to improve on ST i agree.

So, your evaluation of Feeley is finished, no matter what he does now?
