Okay all, after a brutal Playoff loss like that all I can do is take a deep breath and begin thinking about how to improve the mess of what we saw out there today.

By far my biggest disappointment today was the offensive line and front 7 for Miami.

Here's some thoughts about what we need to do to improve:

- This should have been BA last year at LT and he should move to LG or be cut/traded. It's time to move Tunsil to LT permanently.

- We need sign Leary from Dallas for the RG position or draft a guard in the first three rounds. (I prefer FA here)

- If Pouncey comes back healthy next year and we hold onto Ubrik, Steen for depth than our Line could be Tunsil, BA, Pouncey, Leary, and James

- Another starting capable TE who is a blocking/pass catching TE, I'm thinking someone like Witten here who doesn't have to be a burner but can help the running game with his size, I'm done with weak receiving only TE's like Jordan Cameron. Sims and another with Gray backing them up at TE #3.

- I was on the fence about trading Matt Moore this offseason but my concern is wasting a draft pick on a developmental QB with Tannehills questionable health when experience is what we need. Moore played fairly well today but got destroyed by a horrendous outing by our Oline, there just isnt enough experience behind Tannehill to feel good about trading Moore yet IMO.

- Re-sign Kenny Stills, he has earned it and we have more than enough at WR between Landy, Still, Parker, and
Caroo.

Defense:

Where to begin???

- Well, we are in need two starting LBs outside of Kiko, Hewitt should be retained for depth and Butler, Misi, Jenkins and Paysinger cut. I see looking to the draft for our first pick or second round.

- Safety depth, am I the only one who thinks it's time to move on from Michael Thomas and Rambo??? I think we need a starting capable safety to backup Quddus and Jones or even push Quddus into a Safety #3 role since he seems to be able to play SS/FS. Keep Aikens for special teams, if we keep Thomas move him to nickel CB to help in
single back running 3WR/4WR situations.

- We need to draft a pass rushing DE in the first round, Wake was amazing this year and he may be aging like a fine wine but we only have a couple of years left in him. Branch was a nice surprise this year and I'd like to see us resign him. We need a starter opposite branch to allow Wake to rotate in and stay fresh. (What Mario was supposed to be)

- Get hefty at DT. Jordan Phillips and Suh are a strong 1-2 but we need a
chunker in the middle to come in and bolster the running game - perhaps Suh could shift to DE on early running downs? I'm thinking like Ngata/Sands size here because we are too small at DT and are getting pushed around. I am completely indifferent to Mitchell coming back to the team (yet another undersized DT)

- CB
Xavien Howard is minimally a CB #2, Maxwell is a giant question but I think he comes back as CB1/CB2 next year. Lippett could be regulated to boundary during long passing plays as he doesn't seem to be a good tackler and seems like more of a liability of short versus long balls. I would gladly move on from Bobby McCain, or at worse keep him as a dime and sign another nickel who has some legitimate NFL experience.

It's a start - what do you think?????? :idk:

Linebackers, particularly Linebacker tackling.
Pass Rush- Need another edge rusehr
Dline- Earl Mitchell is probably gone, need to upgrade there
Tight End
Oline- I think this has more to do with Pouncey and Albert's health, but If they decide to move on from Brandon they need to have a relibale guard to go to once they move tunsil over.

They won't all be fixed but Like to see the draft address atleast a few of those needs as well as shrewd FA signings.

LBs, LBs, LBs, LBs, LBs, LBs, LBs, and did I say LBs?

I'd also add backup QB and Secondary depth to that list. I'm fine rolling into next year with ISA/Shad and Max/X starting in the secondary with Lip and Thomas as depth.

Talent across the board. We are a very thin team that's lacks explosive players every where. I would like some passionate players also. I most passionate guy is a receiver for crying out loud.

I still think we need a twitch nickle CB to replace McCain, I don't think Lippet and Thomas have the athletism to stay with guys like that.

Trying to figure out the QB situation, a guy in the later rounds would be good for a developmental prospect but man I feel like we need every pick we can find for Defense.

Not having Jones and Qaddus was very obvious today. As was our lbs, kiko has 1 hand, jelani has 1 leg, and nobody has stepped up at all at SLB. You just cant overcome having only 1 fully healthy starter in your back 7. Even that is debatable. You could argue that Howard isnt 100% yet either. 4 starters out, 3 playing hurt, all in the back 7. Unreal. Oh yeah, and missing both captains on offense. Just brutal.

Yea I'd be for upgrading Nickel, but It'd be about 6th on my list

oh yeah, I forgot about Jelani - who also needs to be cut.

Good points all around.

Defense needs shoring up. Getting Jones and IAQ back healthy is a must. 2 new LBs at least. Re-sign Branch. Another CB perhaps.

Offensively they need to re-sign Stills and Sims. Still need a seem-threat TE. Bushrod can go, maybe Albert takes over for him. Still need some OL help.

I think this can all be accomplished next year.

I know today was a bad demoralizing loss but you must consider that the amount of key players lost to injury stacked the odds against us. No Tannehill, no Pouncey, no Jones, no Quddus, no Maxwell...

But about what needs to be fixed...definately linebackers. Im fine with Maxwell, Howard and Lippett as corners but im not big on McCain and we could use some better depth behind those 3 guys too.

Other than Alonso our starting LBs are garbage. Im 100% fine with Mike Hull as Alonsos backup, he played fine when Kiko had to miss a game. Hewitt is ok as a backup too but we need some nasty linebackers who can tackle playing alongside Alonso.

The offensive line needs some depth and some adjustments too. Tunsil is obviously the future LT but if Albert doesnt retire then they will probably keep ALbert LT and Tunsil LG. An upgrade over Bushrod would be good and Juwaun James has regressed from his rookie season which is alarming. But, if we are going to keep those 4 and not goin to use a high pick or make a big signing in free agency then we need to find better depth. The big question i would have about the Oline is actually center. Mike Pouncey is a force when he is on the field, clearly the running game was better with him playing but how serious is this hip. Is he going to continue to miss time because of it? Again, we need to adress this and get a better backup center. Urbick stepped up late in the season but he didnt really play against elite defenses and Steen was just ok. Its unbelievable how bad Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner actually were....

I would say first and foremost LB needs to be addressed before anything else.

I agree on all points!

Secondary for sure. Also, they need to fix next season's schedule so they can face another weak schedule. Only won 1 game against a team with a winning record (Steelers). Only faced 3 teams with a winning record. They face double that next season.
