1st) Idon't care if we sign Tom Brady, put Arians at the HC position and sign the best 10 defensive players. Until games that matter are actually played we must contain our expectations. Why? Just look at the last 10 years and you will see things repeating all over again. Maybe someday we will get back to those ancient glorious days, but until there is a clear sign that we are on the right track,we should always get our expectations low and then be nicely surprised if reality is better, and not the other way.
2nd) In the NFL no team can be underestimated, Redskins, Jaguars, Jets, Texans, and the list goes on. We have to respect every team we play. Those days in which we looked at the schedule and put a W over the name of the rival are gone. Gone until this team plays with passion, until we have a HC capable of taking advantage at other teams’ weaknesses and play to the level of expectations we have.
3[SUP]rd[/SUP])Talent and coaching evaluation is such an important thing! This is the reason we are doomed with this OL, this secondary and this coaching staff. We let the good ones go, and replace them with worse ones. Drafting is crucial, and last ten years we focused our draft on OL, DL, CBs and DE. Still missing them all.We should learn how to retain the good players, even though a new Head Coach will be tempted to replace some of them. Players like Jenkins, Jones, Landry,Pouncey, Fede, Grimes, Mathews and Tannehill should be considered in the near future. Otherwise we will see them flourish on other teams. Coaching is such an important part of this game. Look at Dallas winning without their top 2players. (and yes! Their HC was a staff coach in this team), look at Atlanta winning by fighting their weakness (and yes! Their HC was also a staff coach on this team), look at New England finding ways on OL to stop that amazing Bills defense (and yes! Their OL coach was also a staff coach on this team), or look at the Jets great game plan with lots of restrictions from their QB (yes! Everybody knows their HC, as he was an integral part of the Dolphins defense)
4[SUP]th[/SUP]) The most important of them all. This is life, if you like to be happy, put everything were it should be. Enjoy the simple fact of breathing and having someone besides you that loves you or that means everything to you. Dolphins are only an NFL team, a “mediocre” one since the Marino and Shula days. The system want us to be addicted because it gives them the only thing they are concerned about, MONEY. We as fans are the real heroes of the team, we are here after years and years of suffering, we pay for a bad product and still continue to believe in the team. We pay while the ones that make us suffer are being paid “millions”.So, don’t feel bad if you use your money for better products (and right know there are a lot of better ones), or choose to spend your time doing better things than watching your team or going to the stadium. You will still be a hero, because no matter what you do, you will always have a little zone inside you that bleeds Dolphins, and if you choose wisely, you will still have done lots of amazing things with your life. And one of them could have being putting this addiction away and enjoy happiness outside of it.
