Well, Trusnik left, not that I care but this creates an interesting situation.

We need a replacement, most likely a late round draft pick but depending on how we address this position we'll find out what will happen with Jordan.

If we draft a prototypical SOLB, then Jordan will stay at DE but if we draft a DE late then that means we view Jordan as our SOLB.

Also, I'm tired of the 'switched' SOLB and WOLB positions, IMO that had a lot to do with Wheeler's poor play. He's a WOLB and needs to be shielded from blockers to do his mop up work like any other WOLB but by playing switched he faces the opposition's TE/FB/lead blocker on every play.

IMO we switched it cause Misi sucks at covering TEs and we rather line him up on the blindside so we can blitz him more effectively but if Jordan stays at SOLB we could switch back to normal and make Wheeler more comfortable and perhaps improve his play.

Thoughts?

Trusnik signed a new 3 year $3.5M deal the end of 2012, and is still here.

?

Thought trusnick signed like a 3 year deal last season. Should be under contract until 2015 or 2016 if not mistaken.

Maybe you mean Spitler? (SP?)

I thought Trusnik was gone... wasn't he a free agent this season? He sucks either way and should be sent packing LOL.

I wish Trusnik was gone. He's a average special teamer, and a below average backup.

I stand corrected.

Dolphins signed LB Jason Trusnik to a two-year, $2.17 million extension in November. The deal included a $600,000 signing bonus. Trusnik, a reserve linebacker and special teams player, is now under contract through the 2014 season. The 28-year-old has appeared in all 15 games this season, starting two games at strong-side linebacker, and has amassed 21 tackles. Sat, Dec 29, 2012 01:09:00 PM

So he IS a free agent right?

We need new back ups for sure. Losing Trusnik is no big loss, he is awful. We need to ditch Spitler as soon as possible too. Is it that hard to find decent depth?

Anyone can replace trusnik. Only Ireland would have given that scrub an extension. Trusnik was probably laughing when he signed it

Pick any Undrafted FA name out of a hat and I guarantee he will be better than Trusnik..... Jenkins will be the guy to take Wheelers spot, but Misi and Ellerbe really don't have a back up that can start after their contracts are through. I say draft 1 LB and sign a few Undrafted guys to develop.
