what will happen with Jared Odrick now?

Hopefully it means we won't be drafting a DT.

We could play a 4-4 or a 5-3 since our secondary is so thin.

A 5-2 situationally is a good option now. You put Jordon and Wake in a 9 technique and let them go at it. I wouldn't be surprised to see that peppered in from time to time.

I'm pretty sure Odrick will start at RDE in 4-3 and in nickel kick inside to DT and Jordan is RDE... I think Ireland has said they are going to start him as a situational rusher. Think how SF used Aldon Smith his first year

Yes Ireland said in his press conference yesterday that they think he's a 3rd down player who will develop into an every down player. Probably give him a year or two to put some muscle on.

I agree that he would probably be used as a situational rusher the first year like Aldon Smith and when he puts on weight he could be an every down player. Does the contract status of Solia and Starks after this year play into the pick? Odrick could be kicked inside if we lose one of those guys.

From a situation/package standpoint in pass situations, I'm a big fan of the 2-4 or 4-2 depending on how you want to play it

2 DT's Odrick/Vernon
2 DE/OLB Wake/Jordan
2 ILB Wheeler/Ellerbe

Really provides a lot of flexibility and allows you to bring in some 3-4 blitz concepts if you choose to.

ODRICK will end up at DT, and soon. He'll go back to DE anytime MIAMI wants more bulk in the DL: e.g., goalline stands, and 3rd/4th and inches.

Your #3 pick in the 1st Round DOES NOT RIDE THE PINE. He plays, especially when he's a true pass rusher, and the only other true pass rusher you have is WAKE. If VERNON develops bigtime, all the better: let the "stunts" and "games", opposite WAKE, begin.

Pretty sure Soliai is on the trading block as we speak.....likely for a 2nd or 3rd plus. I think this puts Odrick at DT and we offer Starks an extension.

We have a log jam on the DLine even if we trade Soliai. I like Cam, Starks, Odrick, Vernon and Jordan lining up wherever as an OLB. Thats a scary line........"F" Brady!!

Could set us up for that hybrid D that Coyle talked about so much last year. We only used it maybe once or twice if I'm not mistaken.
3-4/4-3 would be perfect as we now have the depth to do it.

Regular 4-3 front: Wake, Soliai, Starks, Jodan/Odrick
3-4: Starks, Soliai, Odrick with Wake and Jordan at OLB. OV could also get some burn at OLB while Shelby can be put in as a 3-4 DE.
Pretty scary to think about.
