Will fat boy play for us this year, will he get cut or traded once again? I ss him playing next year somewhere and lazy man just doesnt want to do anything until September

My bet is he will probably just retire and never be heard from again.

Some team will have injuries at Defensive Tackle and really needing some proven depth....then he will resurface with some team. I think its pretty understood he has no desire to go through training camp and pretty much won't.
Dolphins still have his rights though until they recoup any bonus money owed to them? Not sure on that?

Make him show to camp and if he doesn't (which is his typical MO), fine him for every day he doesn't show. After about a month, his $salary should be eaten up with fines to point where he'll either retire or beg to be traded. I'd refuse to just cut him or allow him to decide to retire before the season begins (or whenever the cutoff is). This garbage of refusing to show for a physical needs to have rammifications to it or others will try and do the same if they don't want to be traded. :fire:

He didn't show up fat and out of shape last TC, what makes you think he will this year ?? He doesn't like the offseason and TC, so what ?? That makes him a bad player ??

Now, as to his not showing up to the Broncos...He is 34 yrs old and has an extensive injury history...he may be considering retiring again....so what ?? That makes him fat and lazy ??

The bottom line is that he is a valuable role player on the DL. He's not going to start or play more than 30% of the plays. He wasn't acquired for that reason either...he was acquired to be a role player that Capers used effectively last year... My guess is that he'll be kept around until they see something from Evans, Wright and Wright in that DL rotation...

Still, Cam may tire of his not wanting to get involved in the off season and dump him...I guess we'd save something against the cap if we do...

i think not wanting to do TC or any offseason work is being fat and lazy and not being heard from either is pretty irresponsible....let us know ur intentions fat boy

I hope we work his tail off in training camp, and then cut him.

Who knows what goes on that the media doesn't tell us? Maybe he took his time in making a difficult decision?....maybe he did call the Broncos to tell him he was very much leaning towards retirement? The guy did make some nice plays for us last year

We can't make him go to training camp, if the guy decides to retire their isn't a whole lot we can do about it really. I agree that if he is going to play he needs to be in camp. I thought Saban set a very bad precedent when he allowed him to skip camp. I don't think we should cut him, we can continue to own the rights to him that way if something happend and we had injuries, we could always bring him in for depth later, and it would keep him from playing for another team, particularly in our division. It would also keep Denver from turing around and signing him later without having to give us a pick. But I don't want him taking up a roster spot that a younger guy who has more upside and wants to prove himself in camp could have. I think his bonus money is very little so it really doesn't matter anyway. It is his base salary that is to high IMO, at something like 2 mil this year. I don't want to pay a guy 2 mil a year who can't even make it to camp.

Exactly, Saban should have never let him miss camp and should have cut him for missing it, but we all know how much of a ***** Saban is (AHHH, everytime I hear that name all I see is fire and brimstone). However, if he retires we can recoup some signing bonus of we gave him one at all...
You know he spent the majority of it at Mickey D's

I am sick and tired of these lazy players who only play when they feel like it. We don't need that and we certainly don't need a fat lazy thing like Wilkinson. Cut him and be done with it.

...

I was under the impression he didn't show up for last training camp.

And as far as not liking training camp and the offseason workouts being so what? and that doesn't make him a bad player? In other words he should get a pass?

That is an interesting concept if applied to the rest of the players, in other words, show up if you want to. If you don't show up, so what? That doesn't make you a bad player.

We'll take him. We're signing all the has-been and never were defensive lineman we can.

You got a solid player in Bowens. He doesnt cause penalties and is a good pass rusher. Although, we will find out this year if he was a product of JT on the other side...

Love the avatar...thats awesome...Im going to send it to my phone and then email it to my boss

Wilkinson will most probably be put on the Reserve : Did not report list.

This way he will not count as a roster spot and his base salary is not counted on Team Salary. His contract would be tolled.

The next step would be Wilkinson's. He could report or retire. If he reports he could be released or forced to get in shape. If he retires he is subject to the new signing bonus forfeiture rules.
