I call last offseason our best ever.

1. Saban (of course bye bye perrenial loser Wannstadt).
2. A slew of great and good assistant coaches.
3. A new GM (bye bye Spielman).
4. Good free agency pick ups.
5. Nice handling of the toxic Ricky situation.
6. Good draft - maybe great - time will tell, but I love Crowder already he is for real.
7. A nice season - especially finishing strong - a longstanding problem in dolphin country.

This offseason. Our second best ever.

1. Saban has his system in place for a full year and season at this point in time.
2. Capers and Mularky - beautiful.
3. Good cap situation and less holes to fill.
4. I am expecting another strong draft.
5. A more friendly schedule (we went into last season with the toughest schedule in the league).
6. Hopefully we get Will Poole, Vickerson, Alibi and others who may contribute to make us stronger back at full force

If it goes well I expect that anything can happen. New England will be a force to reckon with, but we will too. I predict it comes down to that last game against them and us and winner takes all. And I mean ALL!

I think looking objectively at the AFC East, as it stands now talent wise and coach wise you have to concede that without a better quality QB then we aint going to overtake New England. Perhaps the only thing in our favour is that New England has slowly lost some of the glue that held it together over the past year or so and it will be BB's offseason moves and draft that will go a long way to determining what will happen.

Given the Jets and Bills are rebuilding then it really is a 2 horse race for the division title. The division games will always be tough but I feel better about next year knowing that we will at least start of stable and not in a state of flux.
Keeping the O the same helps us sbuild around our strengths and the new hirings may bring a bit of unpredictability to us that we ahve sorely lakced in the Wanny years.

Year we got Shula was the best.

Year we drafted Marino & Clayton & Roby was second best.

The "second best offseason ever?" Are you people delusional?

There's one thing you're all forgetting.

WE DON'T HAVE A QUARTERBACK.

You are all now free to tell me I'm not a real Dolphins fan and that I'm really a Bills or Jets fan in disguise.

is this vacancy a lock to resist until next June?

I hope we get a qb in this years draft, dont know about cutler .. prob wont be there. hopefully theres a QB we are eyeing in the draft, that can be better than what we have had. well since Dan and i hear all this talk about marino not winning the big game and all this blah blah.. I would take dan a million times over ! Im glad he was a fin and loved the years he gave us. **** bring Dan back, theres our qb.. put a good O-line around him and lets GO..

:shakeno: are you for real? Did you even read the title.. he said WHAT WILL IT BRING!!!!!.. and a part of that question is asking, will it bring a QUARTERBACK to finally get us to the next level.. try reading and actually thinking before you post next time..

IMHO, I still think saban needs another year. Im not to sure he can do it in 2 years. I really think he needs a 3rd year to really have everything in place to make a run for the superbowl. Saban still needs players at certain positions. It not like we are looking for 1 or 2 plyers. We still neeed help at SS, O-LIne, D-LIne, LB, QB and DB.

Last offseason did nothing to tell me it was the best offseason over. Nick Saban, believe it or not, is not a deity. He took a team with a solid foundation and made them 9-7. Had we had a running back in 2004, we may have been 9-7 or 10-6. We don't know. This wasn't a perennial 4-12 team - it was more like an off year.

It didn't mention a quarterback. You simply can't call two offseasons the best ever when one didn't address the quarterback position while the second has done nothing more than hire two coordinators (one of which is extremely overrated).
