Now that we all saw yesterday what the Phins are capable of, what would make this season successful? This is taking everything in to account. Record, playoffs, players in the ProBowl, awards (like Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, ect), or ever the SuperBowl.

before the season started, a 8-8 record seemed to be a great goal. after a dominating win in week 1, i think alot of expectations went up to 10 wins. maybe a wildcard spot. but IMO, after 3 more games that might come back down.
Zack will make the probowl unless hes injured. and definatly your TE. i see williams (bucs) taking rookie of the year, becuase he is the only RB they will be using on a regular basis.

on paper going from a 4 win season to a 8 win season is very good. but if you win a few in a row, you start thinking playoffs. next thing you know, you have 9 wins, and miss the palyoffs, and your pissed off.

8-8 at the very least. I think Saban could've made last year's squad 8-8 just by shear coaching. I think anything less than that would be a disapointment.

That said, I'm thinking 10-6 is possible now. This wasn't a lucky, gift-wrapped win (like beating the Patriots last year) - it was a complete dismantling of another squad that was supposed to be good. I know it was one game, but my God - this is what they do when they haven't even gelled yet, or learned to minimize stupid mistakes like presnap penalties? I'm excited!

.500 would be a successful season. There have been a lot of teams to start fast in week 1 and then fade away badly so i am trying not to get too excited. We'll find out over the next two weeks what kind of team we are going to be. Sunday was an excellent start though :)

I could see 9-7 and a Wildcard spot most definetely but we have to have consistency and tenacity... By our bye-week we should know what kind of team we have as far as intangibles. Unfortunately it may take a loss or two to really see what mental toughness and resolve this team has.
But we did need a win to generate some confidence and identity...

I totally agree. Good post. (for a Bills fan):D

I'd be happy with an 8-8 season and a few pro bowl selections. The thing that I think would probably make me happiest would be a Defensive Rookie of the Year for Crowder, although I'd be almost as happy if Daniels did it. I think Crowder has a decent shot at the award depending on how good the team really is.

dont care about the record, just get better, play everyone hard, no stupid crap, and develop players, if we end up with a QB for a few years in gus great if not then sage

After a 4-12 season, 7-9 would be a successful season.

Using the talent we have to maximum effectiveness, outcoaching our opponents, and ferocious play for 4 quarters will make a successful season to me. If we can do that, regardless of our final record, we will be able to add talent and do great things for seasons to come.

8-8 or better if the offensive line is better and Gus stays the way he is and Ricky coming back and dont forget our defense is nasty this team could very easily win 8 or more.

We could have an offense like KC(depends on line) Ricky and Ronnie wow. Chambers Boston Booker Welker and Mcmichael that is as good as a recieving crew in the league. I say Gus could have 20 tds or more for the season if consistently decent. The reality is if you look at this offense on paper the oppisition sould be worried

9-7 is acceptable but I believe we will be 12-4 regardless of the overated win at Denver. If we beat the Jets next week and Carolina the following week they will be calling us Superbowl Contenders. And those other teams they were calling Contenders will then turn to Pretenders.

12-4 with a shot at the division title but definately a wild card

I still say this team will finish between 6-10 and 10-6. We were supposed to win our home opener...but I didn't expect a can of whoop a$$ to be opened.
