Conrad would have been banned by Roger Goodell during his rookie year if he entered the league today. Different era, different game, different society.

I still believe old school is still the best school.

Conrad would have gone to dinner, while at the same time someone he knew would have Tanya Harding Martin's legs....Richie is a dirty player? Conrad invented the name dirtiest player in the game.

Conrad would have broke Martin's leg during dinner and then had dessert.

The NFL is a No Fun League now and they are more concerned with having a squeaky clean image than anything else, yet the NFL decides which teams to go easy on (the Patriots, The Jets when Favre sexually harassed that hoochie), and which team to crack the whip on...like the Saints last year. Watch the Phins lose draft picks, coaches, front office guys and face huge fines.

Uh...sorry Roman...but are you in the right thread?

He would have followed him home and beat his ass in front of his wife and children.

That's about the opposite of "what would Jesus do?"

I don't remember Conrad Dobler getting in trouble with his own teammates, or being suspended internally by every team he played for. Granted, it's been a while. Maybe there were incidents I'm forgetting. Dobler was known to leg whip opponents.

Actually, Dobler would probably have quite a bit of understanding toward Jonathan Martin, considering Dobler's post football experiences. He's has mental struggles and I believe they included contemplated suicide. He had to seek treatment. I remember reading a link on a golf message board a few years ago, after word leaked that Phil Mickelson paid for the college education of Dobler's children, once Mickelson heard of Dobler's struggles.

Conrad Dobler would have led Martin by example, not by harassment and intimidation. I recall vividly when he left St. Louis and got to Buffalo in 1980. The Bills got instantly tougher. In fact, they beat the Dolphins for the first time in 10 YEARS!!! That 20 straight losses boys and girls. How do you like them apples Bills fans ?

Yep...right thread. I am just saying the NFL is a different league today. Guys used to handle things on the field or locker room.....the NFL and players are different today. I saw a show about Dobler. His wife fell off a hammock in the back yard, and Dobler has to carry her around and move her in a wheelchair. Dobler was a bad dude during the game but he seems like a good person in general.
