Dennis Hickey has gotten a fair share of love on this board, and in some cases he has earned it. I think most of us believe he will draft well, at least early.
Since things are slow, I want to know what he could do (realistically) that would set most people off. For me, i think he'll make solid choices in rounds one and two, and maybe throughout (it's too early to tell about all of last year's later round picks yet) but I'm afraid he will repeat the trend of going for small school guys in later rounds. I don't mind some here and there, but I want to see proven guys who contributed under the hot lights added to this team, guys who can come in and contribute(whether Philbin actually uses them or not, another story). The only other concern I have is Hickey going after too many guys with injury histories.

Signing anyone that has an injury and/or drafting a QB or DE early.....

Burn a 3rd round draft pick on Billy bleeping Turner instead of going with homegrown talent like Brandon Linder. Oh wait.

Getting cute in the first round and drafting a "who's that" type player at a position not needed. The Dolphins need OL,DT, ILB and DB help.

not going for Dorsett!! in fact, not going after all the hometown players: Dorsett, Perryman, Walford... they could be our Big Three

Annoyed (But ok with it):
Taking an O-Guard in the 1st round

Upset:
Taking a No name small school player for a need position in the 1st.

Angry:
Taking a RB, DE, outside LB in the 1st, or trading up (Giving too much for a non-need position in the 1st).

Extremely Angry:
Taking an O-Tackle or QB in the 1st.

Anything other then that, I can deal with.

Spending too many picks on small school, developmental type or players with an injury history.

Moving up by giving up draft picks. We need as many picks to have a better chance to retain and develop our own players. I would like to move down in the 1st perhaps to the 20th pick and get an extra 3rd if possible. We just need a dance partner.

I'm going to be honest, I don't know if Hickey can piss me off because of the organizational structure. It would only happen if he did something out of character or made choices differently than he did last year. And if he did that I'd probably put the blame on Tannenbaum and it would be clear he was the one calling the shots.
