No disrespect to Pennington, but after seeing Henne start his career at 2-0, this deserves addressing:

Pennington was not the cause of the loses so I would say the same.

Who knows

Good point?

The Dolphins would have not beat the Jets on Monday if the QB was Pennington. So, with that in mind, could we have beaten the Colts or the Chargers - or maybe even the Falcons?

Atlanta still beats us in game 1 regardless of who starts. Henne can't throw the ball to Ginn and catch it for him too (neither could Pennington) or play defense to stop Peyton. So we still lose a game we should have won vrs Indy. And the game was tied and we had the ball in the second half of the Chargers game when Henne took over and we lost. So I would guess we would have lost that one too.
I really feel our record would be 2-3 based on how the games went regardless of whether Pennington or Henne started.
That is not a knock on Henne. If he continues to play the smart, error free, establish the running game, take what the defense gives you passing style of ball he has the last two games (similar to the way Pennington played) he will get us to a record equal to the one Pennington took us to last year.
Henne has really impressed me thus far. He was steady, not spetacular, against the Bills and outstanding against the Jets. But his career is young so let's not put him in the NFL HOF just yet. I really hope and believe he will be a very good QB for us. But, even after witnessing his splendid job Monday, it is way too early to say that for sure.

I just don't know if it would have made a difference. This thread I think presumes that Henne was given the job in Training Camp and had all those reps as the #1 QB. But ya gotta dance with the one that brung ya (11-5 last year), the QB who the entire team believed in. I don't know how the team would have handled Henne getting the nod over Penny in camp. There would not have been a controversy, but dang, the team loves Penny. Still do.

I don't think you can say that for sure. Henne did have a great game and one that would have been difficult to duplicate by any QB. But Pennington has had several games just as impressive throughout his career.
When I hear people say "Pennington couldn't have made that throw" I wonder which one he couldn't have made since he has made similar throws in the past. Perhaps the zip from Pennington would not have been the same - but the end result of throw, catch, TD certainly might have been. Pennington has hit several WR in stride for TDs on patterns similar or identical to the ones Henne hit against the Jets. There were no throws made that Pennington could not, or has not, made. But you are right in saying we may have lost that one with Chad P. instead of Chad H. starting. There is just no way of knowing; Which led me to say "how do you know" we wouldn't have won that one with Pennington.

That is what I would say also, but who really knows. We SHOULD have won that game against the Colts, and perhaps Henne could have been the difference maker.
Although i agree with the other guy, that penny can't catch the ball for ginn, but perhaps henne would have made the better throw the first time when ginn didn't even try for the ball. And if not, then maybe henne throws to ginn a half second earlier, where ginn had more seperation. Or at the same time, but the ball could have gotten there quicker...

I tend to think 3-2. The team came out slow against the Falcons, and Henne would have probably taken some lumps. But, I think we would have won either the Colts or Chargers game. Some of those FG's - I think - become TD's, making the difference.

Pennington couldn't have hit Ginn for the TD. No way he gets the ball there. He couldn't have hit Camarillo on that roll out. There were a few other passes that required Henne's arm strength.

Also, with Henne our offense has scored 31 points in two straight games. Under Pennington, we didn't hit 30 in any of our first three games.

Pennington was the cause of many wins we got last year, and he did as good a job as was possible this year...I will be grateful for what he has done forever, but if not for the way he slowly directed the offense in the final 3 min of the Colts game, Miami wins that game.
