the Raiders took Calvin Johnson and not Jamarcus Russel? I'm not saying they will but if they did take Johnson who many beleive is the best overall player in the whole draft. what would be the ripple effect as far as where Russel would go?

I think the Lions still take Joe Thomas and the Browns still take Adrian Peterson but are the Bucs tempted to go QB with Calvin off of the board? I think Quinn would more fit their style if they went QB. thoughts?

It would depend what Cleveland and Tampa want to do.

Both coaches are on the hot seat so the question is do either feel like they can afford to possibly start a rookie QB? Or even take one over someone who would be immediate help?

If they get passed both those teams I would expect Houston to take Russell (only if they release Carr and get Plummer) and then it would depend on what Minnesota did.

now that Minnesota has released Johnson I do not think either of the quarterbacks will reach number 9. Minn. said that they would be willing to draft a quarterback. However, something like this might push someone like Gaines Adams to nine. That would suit me just fine.

I think Cleveland woul take Russell and put him in right away.

The Raiders are supposedly high on Garcia and have him at the top of their FA Wishlist.

what if the Vikings aquire Schuab like they have been wanting to? they won't go QB than

no possible way that Adams passes by the skins and cardinals!!! Skins will nab him up real quick

however i do agree that since they got rid of Brad, neither QB will reach 9

if thats so than Peterson might fall all the way to #8, he had an impressive combine and that would be a big drop

The Bucs could go with a QB but their defense is getting old and they had trouble stopping the run and basically had no pass rush. If Johnson is off the board, look for the Bucs to go after Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson or Alan Branch.

I agree. Adams had an impressive combine, he is now the #1 DE in the draft. no way he falls

True, but then again up til now everyone had the best player in the draft going 4th. These things happen. If Houston passed on Peterson the fans would burn the stadium down. :D

That's not like Al Davis. The lure of a big armed QB normally seems to draw him in. Don't tell me someone else has got a part in the decisions in Oakland nowadays? Surely not.

Former 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia, 37, will be one of the Raiders' top priorities once the free-agency period begins tonight at 9. The former San Jose State star is regarded as the top quarterback available in free agency. His stock soared after he replaced injured regular Donovan McNabb midway through last season and guided the Philadelphia Eagles to an NFC playoff berth. The Raiders, Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to show the most interest in Garcia. The Eagles declined to pursue Garcia now that McNabb is expected back at full strength. ``If the Raiders call once free agency begins, Oakland definitely will be one of the places he seriously considers,'' said Steve Baker, Garcia's agent

as far as my comments on Adams, I will defer to you guys but I do not see Schuab going to Minn. they have Bollinger on the roster, I think they would draft Quinn before going after Schaub.... I guess we shall see.

Bollinger is much less talented than Jackson. Having Bollinger has no effect on if Minny drafts a QB or not.
