Over the last ten years we've had a couple "experiments". I'd define an experiment in two ways: 1.) When we brought in a totally unknown and tried to fit them in a high profile position as a starter. 2.) Bringing an obviously "Past their prime/Already retired and coming back player and trying to fit them into a starting role.

There may be some "experiments" that I haven't listed. It also doesn't have to be over just the last 10 years.

Keep in mind my definition. Seau was way past his prime. His constant injured status was evidence of that. With that said, I would not say that he failed. I think he was pretty good when he was on the field. He was definitely an "experiment" based upon my definition though.

AJ an expirement? He ws more of an expectation that experiment based on what we gave up for him. You do not trade a 2nd round pick for an experiment.

I would think that David Boston would be up there.

well then do you mind telling me how Seau failed?...and i know you may have not voted for him, but he must have failed some how because he is an option on the poll that you put up...

The wonderful magement team of Stedt/Spiel that we had in place at that time did. That was a full blown experiment. Unless you feel that in Feeley's 2 career starts with the Eagles he flashed such brilliance. If so, I have some ocean front realty in Idaho I'd love to sell you.

I said he was an experiment in my eyes. I only listed the big experiments. Whoever voted for him must feel that he failed. Ask those people. I voted for Carter.

Jay Fiedler, hands down. He was pretty much an unknown, and coach ******* handed him the reigns of the offense for 5 long, tortuous years. A complete disaster that sunk the franchise to new lows. Does anything else even compare?

Pete Johnson comes to mind, but that's kiddie stuff compared to the dark ages that were the Fiedler years.

You cant really be shocked by anything those two did but you think when they traded for AJ that they thought it was an experiment?

Cecil Collins was pretty bad. Everyone was psyched that Marino finally had his back. Then the idiot breaks into a woman's apartment and tries to get an eyeful. Nice choice Cecil. Let's see, He could either be in the backfield with one of the greatest of all time, or be in jail. Like the mental midget he was, he chose the latter.

How about Konrad? It was a failed experiment in that the experiment never took place. Every year in camp you heard about how well he was catching the ball out of the backfield but he would catch like five passes all year. Every year you heard that he would be more involved in the offense, yet every year he seemed to be in it less and less.
Morlon Greenwood was somewhat of a failed experiment too, he did ok but really nothing to warrant a first day pick.
