Let him finish. What is gonna be done now by brining in a new coach? Nothing. He will be here till the end of the season and like i said in another post if we arent 10+ wins and in the playoffs he is gone then.
I say bring in Cohwer or Chucky.

Anyone you do want coaching has other obligations right now, but I would be looking and doing those kind of things as an owner. If you do that though, this team will be lost. So doing it now is not good for business. You have to wait is the correct business move. Unless you are really savy behind the scenes. So far Ross has failed there, in that area. So you wait. Ross is not "on the inside" with these types of people I would think.

Here's how I look at the Dolphins so far.

The defense doesn't have a single consistent player. Soliai, Langford, Starks and Odrick are ghosts. What was supposed to be the strongest, and deepest, part of the defense is nonexistent. They're not rushing the passer well and are struggling to fill their gaps. For me that is the biggest head-scratcher, I don't understand the regression.

While Wake is by far the biggest effort player, it's been a struggle now that he's being focused on. Burnett has been a massive disappointment after a promising preseason, Dansby wasn't able to wrap up in the Patriots game and now he's injured. Taylor/Misi you don't expect much, you don't get much. Vonte and Smith can't stay on the field. And they are actually playing very well, most of the damage has been done in their absence or on the other corner backs. Promoting Jones to starer was a mistake, the need for a playmaker on defense was the sole reason for giving him the job but he's turned into a total liability out there. Bell is getting his tackles but he's not a game changer.

The offense is a work in progress. It's obvious now that Thomas will be the feature back from here on out. Now it's up to Daboll to find a way to use Bush. Reggie looks slow, and frankly it's a joke watching him run between the tackles. Put him on special teams and feature him as a WR more often. Henne killed Miami last year with interceptions, he's done a 180 in that department. I like that they are force feeding the ball to Marshall, but so far Devon Bess has been completely ignored. Not only was he Mr. 3rd down last season but a playmaker. As it stands Miami is still very predictable, it's either a run, pass to Marshall, or going to the check-down.

The O-Line and special teams haven't really helped or hurt Miami. And considering how bad we know they can get, i'll take it.

i was NEVER a fan of bringing him back. i didnt want him as our coach in the first place, i wanted REX RYAN!!

should sparano be fired now........ YES!!

no, it probably wont save the season, but its early enough to get the coach in here now so he has the rest of the year to see what the personel is and to evaluate assistants. when you decide to fire the coach and bring him in AFTER the season, he is walking in cold. he has to evaluate, watch film, look for assistants and get ready for the draft and f/a. in a SHORT amount of time.

its painfully obvious that bringing back sparano was a COLOSAL mistake, hell, just bringing in and starting columbo should be enough right there for firing him! so lets get it done NOW, get the coach in here, give him the rest of thenseason to see who the week links are in both the players and staff so he can hit then ground running with several months of team knowledge behind him.

blame what ever, the players, the staff, the schemes, its ALL the head coaches job to have all that in place. and this team has regressed every year since ireland sparano have been here. its starting to show BADLY in the stands. can steven ross afford to see all these empty seats the rest of the year? tony didnt get this team prepared, seems like the other teams are doing fine, expecially the teams in our division!! our once promising defense is desimated. we have 1 "decent" pass rusher, sub par front three, so-so lb's and sub par secondary. [but will allen will fix that!].

fans will respect mr. roos if he starts making the moves he needs to make. FIRE SPARANO, and get on tv and tell the dfans, hey, i'm sorry, this is my mistake, mine only and i am fixing that. no more under achieving coaches in miami. the fans, and the team will repsect that. if we have to hear throught the rest of the season how its going to be fine, the off season was short, tony is a good man, i stand by tony, his empty seat problem is going to become EPIC!

this season is doomed. this team is bad with about three bonafide playmakers on it. FIRE SPARANO, get the next coach a running start. get a gm in here that knows how to draft talent when its in your lap, dont trade down for a bunch of lunch pail types.

Brian Cox for HC NOW! He'll fire 'em up!

KALAIDASCOPE: really? howzat? he is the pass rush coach, which out side of horrific cb play is the WORST part of our defense right now. so how exactly will he "fire them up"? he cant fire up his own [small] unit!

Lets face it, deep down we all know Ross isn't going to fire anyone. He was embarrased last off season and he is afraid of looking silly again (not that it really matters). I initially was for Nolan to be HC when Sparano leaves, but now I'm not so sure. He really has let the defense slip. If its his way of sabotaging the team to take over...then thats really low. The only other option is that he is just that bad and has lost the players...again not so good.
I have never been one to fire someone during the season until now. With that, I'm on board of getting him gone. Just don't hire a temp. Get the guy you want NOW. Start rebuilding NOW. If they end up winning, then great (and we won't get Luck). But if they loose, then maybe we'll have a chance at Luck. Either way, if your going to rebuild, start NOW. Why wait, we as fans have been waiting way too long.

Geez how could the defense be soo bad from last year. What exactly is it personal or caoching?

I voted for letting the season play out. Most of our questions will then be answered and we will have a clearer idea of what to do with the coaching staff, Henne and the rest of the losers on this team.

JDOE: what questions do you still have? i think its all pretty glaring. we have almost no talent, we have no direction and sub par coaching.

IF WE FIRE SPARANO NOW it gives the new coach time to evaluate IN PERSON, under GAME CIRCUMSTANCES instead of coming in cold and making decisions from some film watching and word of mouth. a new coach has a LOT to do in a short amount of time so bringing him now instead of seasons end would be a REAL PLUS!!

no, it wont save the season as were still pretty talent bare. but he will get a HUGE head start. does anyone still think sparano needs another year? i doubt it. so get a guy IN PLACE NOW and get a head start on next season. it will put butts in seats, expecially if its a name like COWHER or FISHER, or GRUDEN! how can players be motivated when in the second game of the new year, the stadium is HALF full?

this is one of the few times to fire the coach early in a season.

You CANT fire Sparano until the end. Why? Because WHO are you going to hire? Interim coaches rarely work out. They'll also get some cheap wins with an interim coach, but wont be any better. Forget it, let it play out, then make a decision in January.

Gruden and Cowher are not coming back right now. Maybe in January. (Though even that won't raise my hopes....remember Jimmy Johnson?)

I think the decision was made last year when Ross tried to hire Harbaugh. Called a lame duck season folks. Hang on, blackberry is blowing up.

Let it play out, next week is a must win and this team plays well on the road......this schedule could prove to be just what we needed....5 straight road games to get back in this thing.......5-2 or 4-3 and this team will have some confidence playing at home again....

And how do you know THIS team plays well on the road??? Crystal Ball???

I feel bad for all the people who bought season tickets, this year and last year. Is this how you create a bigger fan base? By losing at home? Whatever Sparano has these guys doing during their practices is totally wrong. Bring back Jason Taylor and our defense looks like a high school football team. Fire EVERYONE!

I voted to Fire him NOW.

I figure if they make a good household name choice they can fire up the fanbase and win back some fans this season even if we dont go to the playoffs.

Now, what decent coach in his right mind will want to come in and take over with already 2 games down....man I dont know but you'd need a name like Cowher or Gruden someone like that with a name to gets fans in the seats.

I dont think Nolan would do that unless he starts winning. I dont think that'll happen sicne I think this entire staff and FO is polluted.

Its the obvious choice though but I dont think it solves the $$$ issues of fans in an owners eyes.

So...if your going to just get the same results then you let it ride out until next season and take your lumps this season so the new administration can have the best picks available.

I don´t know. This smells like mutiny again. Sparano is loosing his players again. Thats my humble opinion and thats why I voted fire him now. No need to keep on embarassing ourselfs with his fistpumps behind players loughing at him. At this time, I agree, it might not be a bad idea to bring in some "big-name" coach and at least get the hopes up for NEXT season.

Well, for starters, waiting until the end of the season will silence any critics that would point out how Henne didn't have enough of a chance to succeed. It would silence the fans and people who would argue that Sparano could have brought us back if only he had enough time to prove it.

It would also not allow people to question whoever takes over in the middle of this s***storm whether or not they deserve to take over next year if this team makes it to anywhere around 8-8. I mean, what do you expect an interim coach to accomplish for the remainder of the year exactly? Playoffs? No way. But if he is only able to win half the games he coaches, do you take a chance on him or go after a big name?

Letting Sparano and company finish out this year lets them hang themselves. It also allows us to see who plays for their jobs and who is just cashing a paycheck. We'll probably have higher draft picks as well, but I wouldn't argue that is why Sparano should be kept (you know, suck for Luck and all that).

I just don't see any premiere coaching prospect falling into our laps just weeks into this season. If a big name like Gruden or Cowher would sign tomorrow, then great, but even they have contracts with the media and probably wouldn't want to come in here and inherent this current mess and possibly some of the blame.

I'm just trying to be realistic. The off-season is the normal time for going after coaches and players when they aren't under contracts and teams can focus on building; not in the middle of a season.

In the 4th year of his tenure we are 1 and 11 in our last 12 home games.

How could any coach not be fired for that?
