Personally I think he is having a great year, and we should deal him like what the Chiefs did with Allen. I think we could get a 1st and a 3rd for him. I would do that in a heart beat. He might be around for us when our team becomes a contender, but for how long, 1 year? I would rather trade him after his stellar performance so far this year.

lol...if JT only got us a 2nd and a 5th in 2010...we'd get a conditional 3rd into a 2nd at best....a 1st is out of the question...he is 31 and has a HUGE contract.....he'd have to have at least a 15+ sack season(which is very possible) for us to have a compelling arguement for a 1st,bottem line,we'd probably have to give up our 5th or 2 of our 7th rounders this year inorder or maybe next years 4th for a 1st rounder this year....so we would be better off just keepng him,cause unless a first rounders involved,IMO its not worth it....

I don't usually post, but this is such a dumb idea I had to say something. Joey Porter is the leader of this young and inexperienced defense. Taking him away would take away our best pass rusher and with a sub-par secondary that won't be better than average for roughly two years(assuming everything falls in place) we would set this defense and this team back. The value Joey gives us now is more that any first round pick rookie could ever give (unless we draft Jesus). Because of Joey's age, we also would not get the first and third that many would assume we get. The deal would be similar to the Jason Taylor deal. Luckily, the Trifecta is not this stupid.

Right now Porter is a force. The guys really isn't that old and is playing hot. Personally I'd keep him around; however, if someone offered a 1st and then some, or even a high 1st - I'd jump all over it. Very few men in football are indispensible. If we could release Zach and trade Taylor, there is no doubt in my mind I'd bite if some team took a chance with a too-good-to-be-true offer for Porter.

Pretty sure I read about four thousand posts exactly like this one about trading JT- seems to have worked out OK. And we only got a 2nd for him.
Better believe if somebody offers a 1st and 3rd for Porter, this regime would jump all over it before the ink dried!
