Seriously, does anyone know what a real "Franchise QB" is? I don't. If I had to offer an explanation, I think I'd say it's a QB that a franchise is willing to make a long term commitment to and willing to build its team around- putting pieces in place that will enable the team to be a strong playoff contender year in and year out.

I think Miami is now there with RT based on his play, youth, potential, leadership, and maybe most important- his durability.

If this org. continues to add depth and smooth out the edges, it may already have the field general. I see the franchise maximizing its dollars not by landing a quality replacement for RT, but by building around his strengths. That doesn't mean he is "elite" or one of the tops in the league right now, but I really believe the management has seen enough to know they got their guy.

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

Right now, I lean towards believing that, short of catastrophic injury, the OP is correct.

A guy who can actually hit a deep ball for the game changing play at any moment. I like Tannehill a lot but that's a huge deficiency that needs to change.

He is the answer. I like my eye ball test. As far as hitting deep, I saw Wallace not go extra and go get it many a times.

Most of us already know we have found our QB of the future. You are correct OP!

Honestly I am pretty shocked that after so many years of bad QB play here that the fans would be complaining about RT. If you are expecting us to get the next Marino or Peyton Manning you are setting yourself up for many many years of dissapointment.

He has to learn how to hit the game changing play, he had exhibited improvement in basically every area but that.

He seems to be really learning the position

No doubt in my mind if Tannehill can keep improving, he should be the QB of this team for a long time. He may never get to Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers level, but if he can just get to a Joe Flacco/Big Ben level I would be very happy.

He's our franchise QB. Not a question any longer. Best QB to wear Aqua and Coral since Marino.

The way most people use the term is a guy that can for the most part carry a team. That franchise qb can make it happen with minimal wr talent, offensive line or running game if need be. Competing year in and year out for a championship will be an expectation regardless of offseason loses, or injuries to the rest of the team. He will take get all the credit for being a winning team and get all the blame for being a losing team.

Rt doen't have the strongest arm.

He dosen't have the quickest feet.

He doen't make mistakes, he takes the sack instead of throwing into triple coverage.
He is the qb. We have so lets rally around this tough s.o.b. Right now and make him feel like he is our "franchise qb"
hey you never know what can happen w/ a little luck and this tough ass d.
