Aside from a very bad taste, not as much as on would have anticipated.

On O, there's Chambers, Booker, McMichael, James, and Carey who will start.

On D, there's Zack, JT, Bowens, Spragen, Poole, and Bell who will or may start.

I know that there are others who may contribute but, Saban has done a masterful job at overhauling the roster in two short off seasons. I addition, he had limited draft picks as well as cap space.

It may take one more year to get the team he wants but, he has far exceeded my expectations with what he's accomplished.

The "Light at the End of the Tunnel" is shining MUCH BRIGHTER!!!

The 04 team also had Mckinney, Hadnot, McIntosh and Welker as our PR. It was Pape first year also...Poole was the nickle, and Bell is still in the running.

Good point, my mistake. I thought Welker was our MVP in 04.

donnie spragan was not on the 2004 team, he was picked up last year from the broncos

I did mention Poole and Bell, as well as others (the two Irish guys). I should have brought Hadnot into the picture.

However, missing a couple of players was not really the point. It is/was what Saban has done in no time.

Aside from the corrections, pictures, and "stuff", does anyone else understand and appreciate what Saban has accomplished?

I believe we only have 20 players on our roster right now that were on the '04 squad. That number will be lower come regular season because Eddie Moore won't be here and i think that if Bennie Anderson beats out Seth, i think he will be released and Toledo will be the back-up.

Saban replaced over 60% of the team, while winning, and gave fans hope.

What's your assessment so far?

How many coaches come in with a 5 year plan, which turns to 7, to 10, to....?

The guy has done a FANtastic job.

Right On SB1-St Nick has dumped many of those lacking in a winning mentality, underachievers, and sentimental favorite hangers on-he will continue to change players at will as new opportunities arise and current players' skills decline, always with the eyes on the prize-a cutthroat, but ultimately winning, way of thinking-just like the reporters being axed from the facility-made some enemies, but stopped the leaks to a trickle

SL,

Well said, and agreed.

Good to see someone with an actual opinion.
