I keep going back and forth on wanting to draft Chase or Pitts.
What kind of impact would these players have on this team? What does a TE like Pitts offer that would want you for us to draft him?

Pitts is just so versatile and would be a matchup nightmare, especially when we up-tempo with no huddle. Also think he’ll make Fuller and Parker more productive. I’m a uga guy but watched lots of Pitts and he is outstanding. So glad he didn’t get killed in that crazy hit during uga v fl game. Chase had no film this year.

When I think dynasties I think defense. Miami, Pitt, Dallas, Buffalo, NE all had great defense. Of course QB is important. Then I think OL and WR. TE is maybe last.

I didn’t like the trade back up to 6 and giving up our 1st in 2022 because a great passing game hasn’t won us many games in Buffalo in January.

Maybe it is me but there seems to be a correlation to SB teams having great TE play. The last couple of years have had Kelce, Gronk and Kittle being very productive in runs to the SB, not to mention Ertz when the Eagles won it and he was their best receiver. I would take Chase or Pitts in a heartbeat but Pitts just seems to be such a matchup nightmare. I still have flashbacks of almost losing to the Raiders because we could not contain Waller.

Facts!

look at the top 5 TEs currently in the league, then look at the top 5 wide receivers.

then decide which players are better, and which contribute more to the success of their teams.

A great TE is much more rare...

...and I don't think there is a GREAT one in the NFL currently. Kelce is very... very good, but he benefits from being in such a strong and diverse offense. Yes, he is part of that diversity... and yes, he is an all pro, but I don't think he matches up well with the truly great ones like Gonzo and Gates... he'll have to play a few more years to reach what they've accomplished.

That said... the all-time yardage and TD leaders are almost all WRs... so in the end, a truly dynamic WR is probably more valuable.

Is Pitts that guy? Is Chase? maybe... These two look to have more top end than Smith and Waddle... So if you are looking for a HOF guy... you are going Pitts first, then Chase.

If you are looking for separation, rather than dominance... you'll likely want one of the others. I can see a case for all four, but honestly... I don't think any of the WRs will be Megatron or Moss. Nice players, maybe even pro bowl players, but I don't see them dominating the game the way a bigger guy can do.

I had one final thought...

If I could poach one receiver in the entire NFL to come to Miami, no strings attached... I'd take DK Metcalf. This guy is pretty much my ideal receiver. He's big, he's fast, and he's a cornerstone player.

Sadly, none of this year's players remind me of him... maybe Terrance Marshall if I squint a bit.

Watch highlights of Austin Watkins and see where he can be had.

I thought Kittles was great in 2018-2019 until the injuries kicked in.

Great WRs certainly seem to have a longer shelf life.
