I think we all know Miami can't fix it all in one year. But IMHO recreating a team identity should start now. Is Miami going to be about putting up the points or about the Knock out "D". Where do they have the best chance to succeed. How best to approach this thing? Welcome your thoughts.

Improving the play of the offensive line although the linebacking corp play has to be improved greatly

We need to add a High Draft Pick on both lines... we should be addressing both lines in the draft EVERY season...

Offensive line. That being said, if Miami goes Kaufusi in round 2 instead of OL, I will be happy.

They should go DE and OL and I expect them to take one of each somewhere in this year's draft.

CB
OL
DE
LB
RB

...dont get cute and shock us. Address the needs.

I'm a defensive first guy so I'll take the D. Also, I think in terms of this draft, the talent is stacked on the defensive side of the ball. For example, Daniel Jeremiah has 12 defensive tackles on his top 50 list. Of those, 6-7 are first round worthy players.

Obviously, the offensive line needs upgrades. But I'm starting to think the offensive tackle signed from Chicago (forgot his name) will be the stopgap option at left guard with youngsters battling it out for the right guard spot. Guard is huge in a division that is stacked with quality defensive lineman.

This is the year to get rich on the defensive side, though, at least in my opinion.

If we spend another high asset on a DT I am going to vomit. Musrod will just be this years version of Clabo at guard but in a more regressed state

I'd go all in on D, except for a 2nd rd G....get a RB 7th or 2-3 in FA to come and compete for a spot behind Ayayi, a spot thats already crowded (with scrubs mind you)...But yeah, Id go 7 picks on D, that's how bad it looked last season, and we lost many...

What happens with Albert has his yearly injury? Bushrod moves to LT. Dallas Thomas reappears at LG (after getting far fewer practice reps). That should be fun.

Improving the front 7 should be priority #1 with how horrible they played last year. Not totally sure how to go about at our current draft position(s) but we need 2 DL, 2 DB, 1 OG, 1 RB, 1 LB and possibly 1 WR.

Well our team had 2 huge issues on offense, the horrible play of our guards (74th and 81st of 84 starting guards) and horrendous backups.

With the additions of Urbik and Bushrod our backups improved significantly. Now when Albert goes down we will not implode ... hopefully.

IMHO we can get two quality guards in rounds 2-4. Two picks would allow us to go CB in round 1 and have a mid round pick left to find a RB, DL or LB.

Adding two starting guards would be a much larger upgrade than any linebacker in those rounds. Our DL has enough players to compete at a high level without any draft picks.

Priority #1 is keeping our quarterback alive. Which helps all facets of the offense- running game, passing, play action, keeping the defense off the field

DT / DE, while they are needs are not nearly as big of a hole as CB / LB

Both lines need to be addressed this year no doubt, but with such a top heavy draft in defensive talent I would start there first. In the second round I would go best OL there, Ive wanted Garnett but he doesn't look like he will last that long. Who are some 2nd-3rd round guard prospects you guys like?
