As players report to camp tomorrow! What are you guys going to pay MOST attention to throughout training camp? Feeley vs. Frerrote? the Ricky situation? Linehan's new offensive system, New defensive schemes? etc.
 
I choose the secret answer... all of the above
 
The QB debate is meaningless becuase in a year I think both will be gone and by the time this team is in the playoffs neither will be on our roster.

Ricky situation will be interesting to follow.

For me I want to see how Sam, Zach, Seau, and even JT react to a new defensive scheme. And I want to see how much older and slower Sam, Zach, and Seau look. If they have lost any more steps then it will be interesting to see when their playing time is cut how they react. Especially Zach and Seau. (sam doesn't have anyone to push him so his job is safe)
 
I couldn't tell you which one i will be watching the most because i really don't know. But i do know that i will be watching the new offense and defense, the coaching staff and Ricky's return.
 
The offensive side of the ball, definitely. Ricky, Ronnie, Gus, AJ, Boston, etc.
On defense, I'm looking at Travis Daniels and the safeties.
 
Our linebacking core is probably what interests me most. what will become of donnie spragan? Will Zack and Seau come out firing for another pro bowl season? Jason taylor...come on his name says it all. Channing crowders rookie season. Will eddie moore FINALLY do something? whats gonna happen to derrick pope? Are roth and david bowens going to play a bit of LB? I like all the possibilities that could happen to our linebacking core.

I don't think Bowens can even play LB but we all know that Roth can (since he played in college)

(bowens played LB in college too;) )
 
oh im not assuming by any means that he can still play it. But its true that he did at one point. i was just giving some justification to me saying it.

the Interesting part at LB is who will be the back-ups and who will start? Crowder could end up starting at OLB and Spragan be the back-up. I'll be watching Lionel Turner quite closely to see what Saban saw in him (I never saw him play)
 
by far the most important thing to me is the offensive line, it all starts there. if they dont play good were in for another long season, bottom line.
 
The only thing I dont want to hear is:

Ricky fails a drug test, or a starter gets injured (knock on wood). :rolleyes:

I'd say Feeley is a key. Gotta have improvement there or its back to the drawing board at QB next year. It may well be but let's hope he has improved over the summer. I would say the Ricky situation rtoo, if we did not have Brown. I will keep an eye on Linehan's sytem too, just to see how well our guys can make it work. The defense is less of a worry for me probably because I am so used to it being a given for us. But with new schemes, it is important that they get the idea asap.
 
For me it's sort of a mix. I'll be paying most attention to the Ferotte-Feeley situation because i want to see who best fits as a Quarterback into the Linehan system. I know the defense should be fine if it stays healthy, it's the offense, mainly the line and the QB's i am worried about and that affects how Linehan's system works so i'll be paying most attention to that.
