what's our oline going to be in a couple of years?

I'm very happy with the way our oline has played this season. It'd be easy to think we're now set fot the next several years and we might very well be. However,the line could look very different in a couple of years and even next year. We have a top LT but he's getting up there in age and has been hurt several times. Our LG situation is not really set with the starter getting there in age too. Satele has played better than expected but Will he really still be here in 2 years? RG is also not really set but we're set at RT. I'm not complaining. Just trying to show how fast things can change. By 2016 we'll probably have a new LT. Pouncy will probably be the center again and I'm hoping Turner will be a starting guard. So for you oline gurus.....could you project our staring 5 next year and the year after?
 
My guess: Pouncey re-signed as a center. Obviously, James will be the RT for 5 years. Brandon Albert remains at LT for quite a while, at least 3. The guard positions are unsettled. I think Billy Turner gets his shot. Dallas Thomas? I still think we go looking for a guard in the draft, 3rd or 4th round. Satele is probably a one year deal. What complicates this is the fact that Pouncey needs to be resigned, and they need to decide at what rate to re-sign him, guard or center. They will not re-sign him at center rate to play him at guard, or vice versa.
 
I agree that we should draft a guard and good point on Pouncy. I still think he likes playing center better too. For sure we need Turner to develop into a starter.

I'm enjoying our wins but our oline has been bad for so many years and I don't want us to go back to that after only 1 good year.
 
Obviously Albert, Pouncey and James.

Guards are the real toss up (unless Pouncey makes full time switch).

We hope Dallas Thomas and Billy Turner get it together?

LT - Albert
LG - D. Thomas
C - Pouncey
RG - Turner
RT - James

I think Turner becomes a starter. Not sold on Thomas, I think he will always be a backup. Need a G in the draft and we are good with Albert, Turner, Pouncey and James. Once Albert retires, I think James can slide over to LT. He has really been solid.
 
If we keep our tackles and Pouncey at C... I see no solutions at guard on the roster beyond hopefully Turner. I seriously doubt we keep Pouncey at guard
 
Not sure James can play LT. He's always been a RT. A lot of course will depend on Albert staying healthy for the next couple of years. I still say we need to go oline at some point in the 1st 3 rounds
 
Billy Turner is a future starter. He's just too strong, too talented, and too mean not to be.
 
100% chance this front office grabs an OL in first 3 rounds...as well as they have played this year so far, OL is always in need of solid players...I hope Turner turns into a starter...Satele is getting up there in age hopefully he can play next season on a 1 year deal...to me we just need to solidify the guard spots...but we will def. get a OL in the draft, most likely a guard or center..who knows maybe pouncey goes back to center and satele is backup and thomas and turner are starters...lets hope
 
I think Turner develops into a very good guard...clean up his technique...he's already nasty and strong...

Tackles should be good, but I would be looking for someone to develop behind Albert (besides Turner)

James should be a phins for 10 years...RT taken care of

The biggest issue is how much money do you want to spend on the unit?
