Based on Saban's comments today he does not seem too keen on giving Sage an oppurtunity to start and does'nt consider Sage having much experience. Is this a vote of no-confidence in Sage so he won't be here next year.

SABAN'S Mind SET .................
Saban didn't rule out starting Frerotte even if he doesn't practice all week.

"Guys that have more experience and have been doing something probably can go out and perform with less reps than younger, more inexperienced guys," Saban said. "I would like to see him get some reps at some point in time to put him in that position.

Is Saban being utterly stubborn or short sighted. He speaks of wanting the team to get better but how can you get better with GUS the 'Ferret' who is the weakest link. Gus's type of performance I could tolerate with a rookie, but not from a 11 year veteran. I imagine he wants to make a statement with this team before the end of the season (with nothing to play for but pride) but his insistence of having GUS start only confirms his no-confidence vote for Sage.

Note: Somehow I feel Saban will refuse to get a QB by the draft all because of the inexperience factor and we end up with some cow flux  of a QB through FA ala Baltimore good talent all around but no offensive production. Everyone will certainly be pissed then we will all be calling for Saban's head.

That being said! I see Sage not being in the future of the Dolphins neither as Starter or Backup, sorry Sage fans.
My greatest fear is Saban's choice for QB nest season, and I have this nasty feeling deep down in my gut that we will see Gus for another 2-3 years guiding this team, so get used to it everyone.
Saban will use that excuse in the guise of grooming a QB in (Lemonade).:) That's funny.

Do any of you feel Saban thinks that Gus gives us the best chance to win a Super Bowl. (Isn't that what it is all about?)
I am trying to analyse his thinking "Could this be what he is thinking?" Does he value the QB position or he thinks an average QB will get the job done.

We have become accustomed to not having real great talent at QB around here and it is time for that to change. I don't think we need another teams reject at QB here again, Rivers is the one exception.

Guys please chime in I am really nervous now about our future QB situation.

Boller was drafted, he's not a free agent... but he plays like someone picked up off the streets sometimes.
Anyway, Saban's comments make me wonder how he'll approach a rookie QB. I know we'll draft one, Mueller has a history of it. I'm still hoping Sage will start.

Saban was quite clear. Te me it seemed like he would rather go with gus because of his experience. The teams mindset is to win games... Not evaluate.
Obviously these decisions aren't only Sabans.. But the entire staffs. And perhaps Sage isn't showing the leadership qualities that instill confidence.
Thats my half hazard guess.

That is mostly how I figured it from what he said, but isn't the starters on any given sunday decided on by Saban call? Maybe Sage is some enthusiastic kid who really want to play but has no idea how to really play the game.
