I do not understand the allegiance to a coach who has a 2 year record of 15- 17.

To me that kind of record is the worse possible record in the NFL. We are better off going 4 -12 then 7-9 or 8-8.

I am fine with Philbin IF the GM wants Philbin - for whatever reason. But it does not make sense to me to have steadfast allegiance to him or Aponte or anyone else if the right person or scenario emerges that looks like it holds great promise for our franchise.

Not much, clearly cant or won't make the changes needed in a season. Bull headed and wanting to do it his way, (GO - GO, GO... Not moving Wallace, not giving Rookies a chance to shine ad-nausea) verses doing what's best for the team.

They will be looking for another coach in 2015 unless they strike Gold in the GM who blows the NFL away with his drafting of players. But how likely is that? Not very. Most likely the next GM will be average or slightly above.

guy is a complete moron and just has no clue, thinks Sherman is a great coach says it all. He is out of touch has no intensity just a statue on the sidline, get rid of this bum

NOTHING! Certainly, nothing that makes him worth this special accommodation that Mr.Ross is giving him.

Philbin is NOTHING. Nice guy? You say? Well I say, "I don't give a s%$t."
Good father, you say? I say Frack you -- go home and play with your kids!!

I didn't see anything this season or last that would lead me to believe he's the guy to get us there. I wanted Ross to clean house. I did want the other too gone more than Philbin but he just can't seem to get the team ready to play. Too many times the team came out flat. The failed to score a TD on their first rive in their last 13 games or so. That's a team not ready to play. Then they didn't adjust a half time either. The team played with no fire at all. I don't see him as a big time motivator or inoviator(SP?) either but it is what it is. It seems as he'll be back and there's nothing we can do about it.

Ozzy rules!!

Once again, instead of cleaning house, the dolphin are working in half measures.

He is the man with the plan, the only man with the plan, and a good plan too. Now we need a GM, good talent scouts, who can get us some much needed impact players in 1-2 rounds, hopefully 3-4 rounds as well. We have not drafted impact players in forever. We need that.

He does have a Super Bowl ring..

But what was his involvement on his super bowl team. I mean an O.C. that doesn't call plays? That never sat right with me. He must have done something else good for G.B. to keep around and for Miami to think he was Head Coach material.

My opinion has become that the players just started to give up. If the reports are true that the players became very down on Sherman and his vanilla offense.....I honestly see how that would affect effort and passion. Philbin is not a firey personality so he doesn't garnish a lot of praise for how he speaks. However, you cannot discount his part in the production in Green Bay and I truly feel that with a new OC and a renewed excitement on the field the players will show up far more than they did.....which will help his way of coaching to shine. If I'm wrong, he's gone next season and I will support it, but for now I am looking forward to finding the right OC and GM and making this team as exciting as it can be with the personnel we have.

All I can say is that the people in Philbin's corner are looking at the big picture and have a long term plan. Most fans can't see past next week, let alone identify good coaching candidates and then try to give them the necessary resources to reach their potential. I'm not saying Philbin is great - the jury is still out on him - but with the stories coming out about how he identified problems on the team, and the abrasive GM refused to address them, this guy deserves to have a shot. With a new OC and new GM, this guy has a pretty good chance to prove some people wrong.

If you are wrong and he's gone next season then probably so will the new OC. Also it wont look good for the new GM they hire, whoever that may be. I don't understand why they're not just cleaning house and starting with a fresh slate. But hey, if for some reason it does work then the majority of us will be happy campers. I say majority because even if the Dolphins had success there would still be people here ragging every move.

Wait, so are you saying that it makes more sense to keep Philbin, if the fins went 4-12? The Dolphins are on the cusp of being a playoff team, why would anyone want to start all over from scratch, when you can try to continue to build on a team that can be pretty good? The fans can complain all they want, but the fact is, Ross has kept Philbin for a reason, and i'm sure he has more insight on the situation than any fan or beat writer. The largest complaint was from the oline and from play calling. The playcaller has been fired, and i'm sure the oline will be addressed this offseason. Lets see what philbin can do in his 3rd year...
