No, you are proposing tanking games. Teams that have already have the playoffs in hand aren't
tanking games. They are resting players which is completely different. No pro athlete would tolerate that
and no pro coach would do it.

It's the same damn thing, they aren't playing the best players in an effort be better in future games. Dosen't matter if the future games are the playoffs or the next season. The underlying act is exactly the same. I'm not saying the starters should go out on the field and actively try to lose. I'm saying not playing the starters at all and playing the backups. The backups would be actually trying to win so they aren't tanking anything they will be playing as hard as they can. The only thing is, they won't be as good as the opposing teams starters.
You can call it what you want, hell call it getting the young players ready, call it shaking things up. You don't have to come out and say you're "Tanking Games" When you think about it, most teams already do this to some extent. Look at Minnesota, they are benching McNabb to play Ponder. Is Ponder clearly better than Mcnabb? Probably not if he was he would have been starting from day one. Denver is benching Orton in favor of Tebow, why? is Tebow a better QB right now than Orton? Nope but they are letting those guys play in an effort to see what they have and get a clearer picture on what personnel moves they need to make next year. It's the smart thing to do
And it doesn't matter if the players or coaches like it. I pay them i'm the owner so i'll tell the coaches to play certain players. If they don't conform i'll fire them. Simple as that. hell the team can't get any worst at this point.
