The same as every other season. Win the Super Bowl. Every team has the same goal.
Ok and my goal of life is to be respected as scientist and become a millionaire.
But as the starter of this thread said, being "REALISTIC", with questionable players at WR and DB, and playing twice New England Patriots that seem to have an unstoppable offense, the Dolphins are a complete underdog for 2012.
Jeff Ireland & Joe Philbin have tagged "rebuilding" as a prohibited term, but with a new HC, new OC, new DC, new offensive system, new defensive scheme and different philosophy on PR, it's unlikely to avoid using such word to describe this organization. That said, rebuilding teams rarely get a place in playoff.
Trying to accept the FO idea that this team is just adjusting things and will be competitive this year, I think there are different levels of goals for this season:
1) The most elemental is to find a starting QB while installing a WCO derivation offensive system. On the defensive side, Dolphins must adjust the defense to play faster and execute better.
2) Once this team was passed such retool, the football must be executed well and as I pointed several pieces are questionable. So splitting series with each team on the conference looks like a feasible goal (I think we can win-out Jets, but only a miracle will avoid Patriots to sweep our Fins). Then if Arizona keeps playing as they have been and winning the rest of home games, there's a chance Dolphins could be on Wild Card games with a 9-7 record.
3) Anything above that is over-achievement for Philbin in 2012.
